I would just like to give you lads a huge vote thanks for being a great set of fans. We mingled with a quite a number of you over the course of the day and all were a credit to your club. There has been so much negativity around the game recently, with fans whining about this that and the other so I felt the need to congratulate your fantastic support today. You are a credit to the game, and a big part of why this game is so good to be a part of. I could not imagine being able to mix so freely with opposing fans of any other sport like we have done today. To the lads we met in Rix's Cafe Bar this morning, I think your wish of "I just hope it's a good game" came true even though the result wasn't quite right for you.
Best of luck to Widnes Vikings in the future, it will be a shame to lose you to Super League (from a selfish point of view) but you deserve it. As I live in Wrexham now, I will certainly be visiting you lads on a more regular basis. (when Batley don't have game that is!!!)
