| Simon Grix has named his 21-man squad ahead of Friday’s Betfred Super League Round 10 fixture with Warrington Wolves, in association with Jadan Press.
With just over a third of the season played, Hull FC will make their second visit of the year to the Halliwell Jones Stadium, looking to avenge their Round Two defeat there, when the Black & Whites battled valiantly with 12-men.
There was another gritty showing from Hull against Leeds on Sunday afternoon, but they were kept waiting for their first win in almost two months as they went down to a narrow defeat in a tense battle.
This Friday, Grix will take charge of his third game as Interim Coach of the Black & Whites, and he has made three changes to his 21-man squad for the trip across the Pennines.
Jake Trueman could make a first appearance in over eight months after recovering from an Achilles injury suffered in the latter stages of Hull’s 2023 campaign.
Over a decade since his last outing in a Black & White shirt, Tom Briscoe could be on the cusp of making his second debut for the club.
The experienced outside back signed on a permanent deal last week, and he has now overcome a calf injury sustained whilst playing for Leigh Leopards earlier in the season.
And Cam Scott also features in this week’s 21-man squad, having missed the visit of the Rhinos last weekend through the HIA protocols.
Jayden Okunbor, Zach Jebson and Matty Laidlaw make way in the squad this week.
Carlos Tuimavave (hamstring), Brad Fash (ankle), Jack Ashworth (thumb), Mitieli Vulikijapani (knee), Nick Staveley (knee) and Cobie Wainhouse (knee) all remain sidelined for Hull.
The full 21-man squad can be found below:
2 – Liam Tindall
4 – Liam Sutcliffe
6 – Jake Trueman
8 – Herman Ese’ese
9 – Danny Houghton
10 – Franklin Pele
12 – Ligi Sao
14 – Joe Cator
15 – Jordan Lane
17 – Cam Scott
19 – Morgan Smith
20 – Jack Brown
21 – Will Gardiner
23 – Davy Litten
26 – Lewis Martin
31 – Jack Walker
37 – Logan Moy
40 – Jack Charles
43 – Ed Chamberlain
44 – Tom Briscoe
45 – Yusuf Aydin

| I'd start with smith in the halfs then bring trueman on after 30 mins or so when the initial heat has gone out of the game. Move smith to hooker and bring houghton off for a spell

Martin has played a lot of minutes and taken more than a few whacks and Tindall needs more game time, otherwise Martin keeps his place on merit. Start with a big pack, hence Sao in the second row. Need to be able to clear our lines effectively and defend hard on their line as I think Warrington will look to quell our enthusiasm and run over us early on.

| Wouldn't have a back 3 of Scott lane Cator. To lightweight. Think ATM lane Cator deserve to start. Just not seeing anything in Scot to start him in 2 row. Would have Sao starting.

I know we are still thin on experience but we need to protect these young players. Particularly those with some promise.

too much speed for us
Leeds made easy metres against us.Warrington will do the same
good call on Martin. The lad has done very well and has a big future but like you i would rest him and give Tindall a run

| Grix said the other day that if Trueman is fit, he'll start rather than come off the bench.

Never been a fan of bringing a player straight back into the first team following a serious injury so it has to be managed well.
Dont think it matters whether he starts or comes off the bench as long as he doesnt get flogged for 80 minutes

I agree.
Coming back from a horrible long term injury, I would have rather played him in the Reserves this week and brought him back at London.
I’m sure he’s been running and moving well in training, however an initial low key run out in the Reserves would be a less risky first step back and a confidence builder than an SL away game at Warrington who will be after the 2 match points and probably running at Jake whenever they can.
