| Signed from Constable Y.C along with Cliff Stark (remember him?)
Knew Keith very well - worked with him in the planning office at Armstrong Patents Eastgate factory.
Very dry sense of humour. Don't remember him ever mentioning a brother, unless your confusing him with Clive Sullivans
brother Brian.
Condolences to the family R.IP. Keith

| as I remember,he breifly stayed at my brother-in-law Mick Scotts place(Idont know why), so I got know him and his mischevious ways. what a character he was! As for him living abroad it could well be true, because the last time I saw him was about 45/50 years ago and he reckoned he was a programme director for Radio Guyana! (knowing Keith I wouldnt be suprised at anything he did) anyway, thanks for the memories keith and God bless.

| For the record.
Debut 26th August 1961, 43 appearances, 1 sub and 13 tries
And from Wilf's The Dentist Diary No.344
"Some of my favourite unsung heroes of that time were the backs, because playing alongside stars like Clive Sullivan and Dick Gemmell and behind a beaten pack, they often got little recognition for what was a thankless task. Wingers like Geoff Stocks (who ran with his legs in the air like a Chicken), Terry Hollingdrake, who seemed to spend more time in touch than out of it, and Keith Barnwell all fall into that category. Keith, a black player with a bit of talent played in the days when black players were rare, and so to see a three quarter line of Suillivan C., Barnwell, Carmichael and Sullivan B. was unique. There were also plenty of tough, tricky half backs like Ken Huxley, Terry Devonshire and David Doyle Davidson, plus of course the great Kenny Foulkes, who I featured in the “Corner” a while back."

Players were part time & Keith was working there whilst a player - mid sixties.
I moved to S.Africa in 68' returned to APC in 73' but never saw Keith again - went abroad I believe.
