| hi what does anyone think about "king kev" being in the sports personality of the year, a few questions here, has he actually got a personality, would you vote for him and lastly, if he flops in union will he return and if so, would we be interested??

| Listening to radio Humberside tonight, guest presenter Peter smurthwaite was asked if he could win it, his answer was no due to the southern based voters who have no interest in RL and I agree with what he said as our sport isn't seen as national like union or football
Likely winner will be miserable git Andy murray
Never understand why they call it personality award because the vast majority of these sports stars don't have one

| I'm still waiting for a good reason why he is in there. Sure he has achieved a lot but there are other players in that Leeds team that are just as good as him, have won just as much and also are just nicer, more friendly people. If you take someone like Ryan hall who also won the triple but ALSO won the Baskerville shield which sir kev didn't then surely he is a more worthy nominee if they want a league player in there.
Andy Murray will win it for sure.

Firstly have you met and socialised with them all? Secondly it's not about actual personality. Thirdly he's in the list to recognise his career achievements as much as those from the last twelve months (just like with Ryan Giggs a few years ago).

Just answering the original posters question when he asked whether we thought sinfield has a personality and all I was saying is that I PERSONALLY think that someone like Jamie peacock or Ryan hall seem like people I could get on with more. In many ways it should be about personality as well as achievement so that the winner is an all-round likeable person. If it isn't about personality then lets have Tyson fury cos it was a massive, lifetime achievement becoming heavyweight champion (he hadn't been stripped of the title when he was nominated) but he wouldn't win because he is a sexist w***er.
If it is about a whole career then why sinfield over peacock? He has won just as much.

They disqualified him for moving to Rovers.

| Kev is a lovely bloke, will spend hours talking to the fans and was always the last off the pitch at meet the player events. He has been recognised as he has captained the most successful Leeds side in history and his contribution to the sport on and off the field is second to none.
I just hope people get over the "We all hate Leeds" mentality and support one of the sport's greats. Unfortunately, I doubt they will.

One club man (IMO) puts him about Peacock.
He won't win it due to the public voting for the sports they like rather than the achievements of the individual.
I think he might be up for a life time achievement award though

He's currently third favourite with the bookies not far behind Ennis-Hill. Whilst true that he doesn't have southern based interest. The advantage he does have is that many people who will vote for him will vote 5/10/15/20 times maybe more whereas someone who'll vote Murray, Ennis-Hill etc. might just vote 1 or 2 times.

| Well if I remember, I'll be voting for him. Time to move away from hating Leeds just because and recognise that they were the team this year and Sinfield has been a fantastic player for his entire career. Plus the RL community should back him to get some recognition for our sport.

I have to say I agree with all of that he's not just the bloke who kicked us to death time after time he's representing the sport and to even get a RL player into the finishing twelve is great for our sport I hope he gets a good showing in the voting myself!

Absolutely. Sir Kev apart from when he was playing against us! He's been superb and has achieved so much for someone , as he say himself , that isn't the fastest , biggest or most skilful player of his generation. To me that makes him all the better as he shows just what sheer hard work and application can achieve. Any League fan should in my view be voting for him.

Well we as a club seem to be getting behind him. I cant remember the amount of times been stood behind the sticks at Headingley watching Sinfield slot another goal over against us, kicking us to death time after time. His achievements at Leeds are second to none and his nomination for SPOTY is well deserved. I don't like Leeds at all, maybe a bit of jealousy because of their sucsess, McDermott and his "Who travels to Hull first class" comment when he was in charge of London and the "going down with your trawlers" still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth having a lot of fishermen in our family. But this isn't just Leeds, its Kevin Sinfield and Rugby League in genral and it will be great to see the sport getting a bit more recognition it deserves. I will vote for Sinfield and hope all the other fans do too.
