TO BE FIXED

I think the effort, as usual, is to be commended - rarely over the last few years can you question it. However, I despair at how dumb and stupid we are as a team. In fact, I can't sometimes believe how poor our decision making and option taking is and how obviously lacking any creative thought is. And I don't just mean the halves. A few from recently...

- the Hardaker kickoffs; seriously, had they not caught on after he'd done it twice already?

- our kickoffs; we must be so easy to play against. Hardaker and Pat Richards use it as a weapon, when you play FC there is only ever one guy who's going to catch it. Why so predictable?

- the last play at Cas, Watts caught in no mans land doing who knows what...why haven't the halves got the ball at this point?

- playing on the shortest pitch around, still we make no real attempt to kick a 40/20 at Cas...even though our 7 spent all last season there and so knows how short a kick that is.

- naughton's crazy kick play at Saints....

I hate being negative but these are just a few examples, there will have been many more over this year. It just infuriates me (and I'm sure everyone else) because it's clear that hard running and tough tackling players are not enough to win anything, nor is the odd flash of individual brilliance - playing smart, well-thought out and controlled rugby as a team is essential and it seems we are a million miles from that.
