No doubt Wilf will be digging around to try to find out what sort of deal we got. There is also talk of increased TV revenue and I still think that this extra money must have gone some way to appeasing the "rebel" clubs in that it probably means that the championship clubs will get their increase with the SL clubs at least retaining what they've previously had. |

Has to be at least a million to be considered a good deal, Bet Fair were offering £750k before the Stobart fiasco. Sadly think it will be less than that as FU will have held the bargaining power but at least we have a title sponsor. After the World Cup I heard GoDaddy.com were in the frame but guess that fell through? |

Thank god for this! I'm amazed how a professional sport in the UK (be it a minority one) failed to attract a major sponsor after the Stobart fiasco. Although if I was an investor I would have wanted clarity on the new league structure and the implications before putting my money in. The actual nitty gritty detail of the new format is still forthcoming so it's a brave move but utlity companies have cash to burn. Much to Ed Milliband's annoyance!

Not bad though after the RFL basically devalued the product to nothing with the stobart farce. Two more sponsors hopefully to be unvailed shortly I believe. |
