| With Salford being forced by Sky to move grounds for a day due to another fixture being at the Salford City Stadium, it kind of got me thinking what would happen if a similar situation arised for us.
There's a chance that this could happen to us one day with us ground sharing. It's happened to Wigan in the past as well, so it's not just an exclusive problem to Salford.
If this situation did ever arise, where would we play? I assume Craven Park wouldn't be a popular decision!

| The closest good enough facilities i can think of is Doncaster.
Costello would be a better option than Caravan Park.

Was it Bradford??
Think we lost....... Was Ipswich yes I'm sure, went to both games that day
Sure we lost and there was a minutes silence also, which was very rudely interrupted by the fair shenanigans

| Would Grimsby or Shorpe be an option? They're closer and assuming would be cheaper, their capacities are both about 9k, but how big a crowd would we think we'd be getting really?
Could also be an attempt at expanding our fan base south of the Humber.

| It wouldn't happen as we get priority at the end of our season and city get priority at the end of theirs.
what I dont get about the salford situation is why sale where allowed to have a televised home game on the final weekend of the supe league season.
It's not exactly a new thing that sky dont choose their last round of games until the the weekend before.

| The Sale game was probably televised due to it being the start of the RU season and Sale have made a significant signing in Danny Cirpiani who is a big noise in RU circles. Plus whoever planned the televised fixtures at short notice at the end of the season must and should play second fiddle to the fixtures planned elsewhere.

2007, Hull City moved their game to lunchtime
we played in the evening against Wigan losing narrowly
we had played at home the previous week so it was unexpected that we got a second home play off game

| Large Parts and clubfoot fc
just to put the record straight ie Sale / Salford televised game.
Like your agreement with Hull City Salford and Sale also have an whoever is in season gets first call on stadium use.
In July when the Sales fixture list came out,Sale like Salford have played Friday night games for several seasons, it was seen that both clubs would be at home. Sale immediately agreed to move to Saturday as per agreement.
In early August ESPN when picking there televised game for that weekend chose Sale as it was now a Saturday fixture and everything was fine until Sky insisted that it was Saturday night only and Sunday was a no go.
Hope this explains how Salford and Sale found themselves in a position that was none of there making
for what was always going to be a non event.
PS
Wait while next week the 21/22/23 Sept if Wigan win against Catalans then they get club call and play at home if Sky Won't, Don't, Can't schedule a Sunday night fixture then the same problems arises because Wigan Athletic are at home on Saturday 22 Sept and Dave Whelan will not allow a game at the DW
24 hrs before a football game obviously Saturday is out so it's Sunday or move.

| I understand how it came about but dont get why sale were allowed to have a home game televised on the weekend when sky always choose fixtures at short notice.
surely It would have been wise for salford to make the stadium unavailable all weekend as sky could change the game.
If they made it unavailable then sale would have had an away game for 1st game of season.
at the beginning of each clubs season they make either the rfl or fa aware of dates when the ground is unavailable and they plan fixtures accordingly
Granted this is much more difficult for the play offs and like you say it will be interesting to see what happens.
