Every time I see him interviewed I'm slightly more impressed than the last time. And after what has gone before, it's like a breath of fresh air. It's a bit like looking at Cheryl Cole's tits when you've been forced to gaze at Susan Boyle's for the past four years.

I think he is great, just pleased with the whole set up tbh, long time since I felt this good about my club. Not holding my breath for any-thing this season apart from improvement, but clearly the club mean business and intend to get us up there competing with the best.

On a personality front, he is very good. Seems warm, humble, genuine, willing to engage with the fans.

In terms of the job itself, he's doing lots of things well. Interchanges sensible, keen to build young players into the game. Talks of specific gameplans and clearly works one on one with players like Sharp. Half time team talks seem to have an impact. Our fitness seems improved and we are less prone to simply fading to nothing in the last quarter. Of course there haven't been any real tests yet, and recruitment can only be judged when the full squad is in place for next year. He seems clear about what he wants and is clearly not satisfied yet.

Does anyone know what the players' opinions are? Would be interesting.

In Adam we have trust In peter we have belief In our team we have pride:

I think there's more signs of improvement since last season than you can shake stick at.
Can anyone remember a player improve more during a close season and into a new one than Will Sharp has. For me he's changed beyond all recognition. Agar should hang his head in shame

Completely agree with Mrs B and others on here. Josh Bowden quite outspoken about Gentle in tonights Mail describes him as "Outstanding" and Moa's slight change of heart is based on Gentles approach and new regime too.

Incidentally did I read that Gentle and Pearson will be on FC Live next Wednesday?

We are still definitely fading in the last quarter though. Apart from Saints and Cas, we have finished worse off in all our games, including against Widnes.

Hull FC, sleeping giants!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_66665.jpg

the bloke appears to be a class act. of course it always easier to say the right thing when your winning. i have to agree with another poster that said he was more impressed with him with every passing week. some things ive picked up on that i really like,

firstly he seems to be very methodical in his approach to rugby and to coaching, he said he had more bones to pick out of the Widnes video session than any other week.

secondly he said he has been making changes week in week out. whilst he gets a feel for his players. finding out what the guys can and cant do and how the pieces of the jig saw fit together.

finally the reaction he got out of the players in the second half on Sunday, hopefully shows he can either tacticly make a change or shake some urgency into the boys when they are off the boil. if i can still say the same about the guy by the end of the season, we wont go far wrong.

I may have totally misheard Phil Clarke on last night's Boots n All but I'm sure he said something along the lines of: "if Richard Agar can get Wakefield into the play-offs, he should be a cert for coach of the year".

I can only assume he had some perverse desire to see Bomber have an apoplectic fit on live TV

Will certainly be interesting how we cope with these next 4 games especially the derby in the recent injury crisis and if he can get them up for them.

Agree although I would have thought there have been seven tests so far which overall we have done reasonably well in.
As fans we only see the results of his work but so far so good for me. At the end of the day he's previously been involved with coaching the best rugby team on the planet so the fact he knows what's required to coach Hull is a given for me. It's a three year deal he signed and if we continue to improve over that period we'll soon be challenging at the top for sure.
