RIP one knacker!!!

Just had a couple of pms asking who he was so to clarify he played in the pack for FC in the 50s

He made his debut with Frank Broadhurst at Hunslet in a 16-14 defeat at Parkside on 31st August 1957 he played 103 games scoring 16 tries. To even get a game in that team of the late 50's is tribute to how good he was and although I only met him twice he was a lovely guy. Warmest regards to all family and Friends R.I.P Brian.

RIP Brian he came on the scene after Harry Markham retired I believe, saw him make his home debut good solid prop. Think your right vooderoo, I was brought up in the Wold Road area so I remember him well.

As a Danube Roader as a child I grew up along side his sons Shaun & Brett, Brian was a lovely guy & will be sadly missed.

Always sad to learn of another player from our greatest era passing away.

103 games for Hull FC when we had a pack to see of all comers is a tribute to the man.

Not during my time there but may have done at another time mate!! although lee trained with us all the time, i remember one match in the cup we drew Dockers and they had Boxhall playing for them so just for fun brian picked himself, he may have been well past his best but he still knew how to stop and stop Box he did !!!
cracking fellow , lovely family and brought the best out of some very average players at Ainthorpe and made them a very useful team !! some went onto bigger things

some good local football lads there all found by Brian from nobodys really, we used to call him old one knacker (for obvious reasons) but he used to chase you down if he heard it and show he still had two hands LOL
i for one will miss the old lad a great deal as will lots of lads whom he found and introduced to rugby locally
