TIME TO VOTE FOR YOUR SUPPORTERS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

It will soon be time for the coveted Hull FC end of season awards dinner so supporters now have the chance to pick their 2011 Player of the Year.

The Supporters Player of the Year, in association with independent supporters group FC Voices, will be presented at the Black and Whites Player of the Year Awards in September, which will have a special ‘Legends’ theme this time around with the induction of thirteen new all-time greats into the club’s Hall of Fame.

However, despite there being over a month to go until the most prestigious night on the FC calendar, fans can already start to have their say on who they want to be Supporters Player of the Year.

Once again, following the success of a new voting procedure in 2010, supporters will be able to get involved in two stages of voting.

Firstly, supporters are asked to nominate the three players that they feel are deserving of the award, ranking their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice players.

This can be submitted by completing a nomination slip at either of the Hull FC retail stores or by sending their nominations by email to fcvoices@hullfc.com. This stage of voting will begin on Wednesday 3rd August and will close on Saturday 20th August.

From there, things get really exciting as we enter The Final Four! The quartet that receive the most nominations will then be announced on www.hullfc.com and every single supporter who visits the website will have the chance to vote for the one player they feel is most deserving of the 2011 Supporters Player of the Year Award.

For supporters without internet access, they will also be able to vote for one player of The Final Four at the Hull FC reception.

The Final Four voting will begin on Monday 22nd August and will close on Monday 29th August.

Pete Allen, Chairman of FC Voices, commented, “We would encourage as many supporters as possible to get involved with this award and have their say on who they feel deserves the recognition as the outstanding performer of 2011.

“Once again we will be hosting two stages of voting to give as many fans as possible the access to having their say in the voting for this coveted award.”

He continued, “The fans always have strong views on who they feel has contributed the most over the season and now this gives them a chance to share those opinions and nominate a player to follow in the footsteps of last season’s winner Danny Houghton.”

Meanwhile, Chief Executive, James Rule, also added, “The fans met last years new voting period with plenty of excitement and literally thousands ended up placing their vote meaning it truly was the Supporters Player of the Year.

“Once again we hope the fans get involved this time around and have their say on the player they have enjoyed watching the most this season.

“Last year it was extremely close between Danny Tickle and Danny Houghton, with the latter claiming the fans award and the former winning the outright Player of the Year Award and I am sure it will be just as close this time around.”

The 2011 Hull FC Player of the Year Awards – Legends Dinner will take place on Tuesday 6th September at the KC Stadium.

Only a limited number of tickets remain available for the coveted event in the Kingston Suite, that includes a finely prepared three-course meal, entertainment and the Player of the Year Awards ceremony.

Tickets are available from Sarah McAllister on 01482 304 964. Tickets are priced at £50.

we're not expecting to be in the playoffs then?

I do hope the future will see us making players awars when the season has actually ended, preferrably after the Grand Final.

IIRC the PotY awards are always held early September and I imagine most if not all clubs are the same.
