This will probably get moved but we've been talking about it on various threads, if the club is sold today and they manage to keep the rest of their squad together and get some decent loans then they're in a fight with Crusaders as to who finishes highest, if Wakefield finish higher than Crusaders it will give the RFL a big headache.

Unfortunately Standee i don`t think that will be the case, seeing as the RFL has loaned the Crusaders £700,000 to let them come out of administration i think it will be in their interest to keep them in superleague at least for the next three years so they can get their money back.

I dont disagree, but Wakefield would take it to court and then we might get the RFL that we need!

The Yorkshire post quotes 14 staff were made redundant yesterday and that when the new owners take control, they will be invited to apply for their jobs again.

| Feel kind of bad that we took their best player off them now. Suppose theyre getting Tansey anyway so sound like a fair swap to me.

I thought it was impossible for clubs to take the RFL to court? Anyway Wakey are dead and buried no matter what happens now IMO.

Whats to say Obst wanted to stay, and maybe the money FC and Huddersfield paid helped some people keep their jobs?

| I do think the RFL are being selective who they help and how.
They fall over themselves to help out Crusaders or so it would appear and I why did no player from Crusaders get themselves snapped up by another club. I can not see how Wakey can now avoid getting the chop now and it must be heart breaking for there supporters to face the coming season knowing the final result. I am not having a go at Crusaders, but we all know that they like London and France are getting special treatment. Super League Europe has never been a level playing field, but I do feel " three special clubs " is too many within the current league set up.
Wakefield fans are getting a rough deal and it can happen to any club as these are hard difficult times.

Correct. They've all agreed not to and if any decided to break that agreement they are immediately suspended from all RFL run competitions.

Appearances can be deceiving. If you check out the detail of what went on the RFL have basically acted to ensure that the 'new' Crusaders club pay back everything they owe to both the RFL and the other RL clubs. They even have a mortgage on Crusaders ground to ensure this happens.
And Crusaders did sell one player during the short time they were in admin. The fact that they only stayed in admin for a few weeks and had the funds to keep operating during that time explains why they didn't need to sell more. Unfortunately Wakey had no cash at all when they entered admin and no assets to raise capital against other than the sale of players.

Agree about the Wakey fans. As far as other clubs being at risk, times are certainly as hard but Ted Richardson made a spectacular hash of running Wakey over a number of years which is why they are as deep in the mire as they are with actually quite modest debts.
