He may well improve his defence but this may come at a cost of losing some of his attacking flair.
Maybe, just maybe, he's reached his peak and will simply not get any better. He said himself;

| good luck to craig, and thanks for all his efforts, just turned out he wasnt good enough, just not strong enough in defence and very nervy under the high kicks, if he plays in the derbies next year i would fully expect hull to exploit this  |
