If we are signing soon to be 22yrd olds (come Oct) who is not a particularly stand out player which doesnt say hes rubbish either. And yes he is a 'cast-off', otherwise Hudds would be retaining him so by definition that is true.
As we have not had a youngster cement a position in the team as i mentioned and have supposedly signed Connor then it IS a sign the club do not have faith in the ability of our younger players otherwise why the heck are we signing this type of player at all?
That in no way is seeing the worst but a consideed question/query based on what has and has not happened.'"
It's funny how other supporters see you knocking anything the club does eh? do you have FACTS that hudds didn't want to retain him? His try scoring & assists are very good for a team 2nd bottom, but you knock him before he even puts on a shirt for us. If anything he wants to test himself coming to a new team so let's see how he goes before you can claim him a cast off with no pedigree.

mmmm.....If I was asked to play and could pick a position I would go centre. Just seems less mentally challenging.
Defensively you need to defend a 2 on 2 or if outnumbered 3 on 2 , be clever and don't let number 1 attacker draw you in.
When I coached we thought centre was a safe place to blood a youngster. By the way every position is a tough gig however centre seems to marginally scrape it.
The main point is why can't we produce them ?

Did you? You've never mentioned it before.
Because defending in the centres for Skirlaugh under 11's is the same as playing pro RL....

So twitter is the font of all knowledge...ok.
Huddersfield have let him go, It doesn't add up if he was such a 'talent', better than any other player from within our junior ranks and a genuinely outstanding player why are they letting him go, why is he not being considered to stay at hudds and be a mainstay in their side?
Surely someone so good would have been signed up by them for longer so at least they would be getting a fee if they couldn't keep him and be under the cap right?
And the question I asked, why are our own youngsters not good enough/not deemed good enough to do the job that JC is being employed for? Is there a genuine lack of player talent coming through, on the face of signing this young man I'd say there was room for concern, where is the next batch of youngsters coming from?
Asking genuine questions is met by idiotic posters with an axe to grind, completely frozen mindset that see any question as a threat/attack/being negative about the club and the usual trolls like Doom & Gloom whom can't string together a cogent response never mind hold a green crayon to colour in their silly picture.

Why not let the young man play a few games and base your opinion on that? You strike me as the kind of person who has historical issues with French and German people, shall we buy you some Sanatogen to get you through the week? Or maybe tennalady?

FFS, THEY HAVENT LET HIM GO, HEHAS CHOSEN TO LEAVE THEM AND SIGN FOR US.
I really don't think you understand the game at all, if you can't understand that you need a squad to be successful, we are losing long Pryce and Micheals and have replaced them other players, as shown there are still plenty of Hull youngsters around and as Radford had shown he will given them a chance if needed.
I'd be surprised if you have seen him play, Huddersfield, the majority of there fans are disappointed he is leaving and his stats this season on a poor team steroid, despite being played out of position, sure you are just being negative for the sake of it.

Got to give him some credit though, the troll gets plenty of bits responding to the bile he spouts.
Let's face it, he doesn't really know who Connor is. If he did, it would be pretty obvious to him that Connor is exactly the type of player Huddersfield would want to keep. Somehow, his warped mind twists it negatively to brand Connor a 'cast off' 7 months before he'll even put on a Hull shirt. Obviously he must be aware of the inner workings of the Huddersfield board room and their decision to let him go. Fact.
Coincidentally, I watched one of our 'cast offs' today at Cas. Looked pretty ordinary. Yet, Bumpy's lovechild Ben Crooks, despite being released early from his contract isn't a cast off? More double-standards from the resident moron.

Ok. Genuine questions blah blah blah. Let's have a look....
Quote ="knockersbumpMKII"Can't say I'm overawed, it's clear signal there is no faith in our own youth products IMHO, are they really that bad that we have to sign another lowly clubs cast-off that has no pedigree?'"
Is that really a 'genuine' question you expect people to answer seriously? You've loaded it with your own negative opinion.
"no faith"
"really that bad"
"cast off"
"lowly club"
"no pedigree"
All in one sentence. And you don't understand why you get the attention you do?
A genuine question would've been something like, "should we be worried that our fringe youth players aren't breaking through" or " is Connor better than what we already have at the club". Those would've been genuine, but a loaded question full of bile isn't.
For what it's worth I think you have a point on the youth, it's worth the discussion - you just make the point really badly and it usually ends in Radford getting slated as per usual.

I think you are right, don't all contracts finish at the end of October, so his contract would start in the 1st November when he is 22, so no fee is required.

| Crafty on our part saying contract only agreed in principle so he will have his medical at the end of the year and then sign the contract after his birthday. Guess we are saying there that if he failed the medical then we couldn't sign him, that's the principle bit.

It's a gamble on both parts though, what if he has a great finish to the season and demands more money or another club come in for him or what if he gets a career threatening injury and Hull pull out of the deal.

| Hmm, this has certainly changed my mind about this situation. I was under the impression this was agreed by hudds but it's seems not. A nasty way to go about things by the hull board. You've either signed him without agreement with our club and so will have to pay a fee- or you haven't actually signed him in which case the timing of the announcement this week With the Huddersfield club in mourning following the death of a young player is a pretty low blow. If you haven't yet signed him then there was absolutely no need to announce it this weekend- the day funeral announcements were made. Seems almost calculated. Not least Connor agreeing to this announcement himself who at 21 will have played alongside many of the players who are completely devastated by the loss of a teammate. If that's the size of his ego then I've changed my mind and I'm glad he's going.

Players move on all the time, it is so sad about Ronin Costello we had a minutes applause before our game with oulton yesterday, don't come on here trying the guilt trip, hudds players don't seem to bothered about Baloo getting the boot, your club badly timed that eh?

Yet your club choose to sack your coach in the same week, it's awful what happened to the young lad, but you can't stop everything in the game, I can't believe you are using the death of a young kid to suggest that Jake or the club have done anything wrong. Using words like calculated is really poor and I think it shows your true character. How long do you leave making any announcement about any Huddesfield player? But is it ok for your club to sack a coach that will have been involved in his development.
