| Connor has to be right centre and back up to the halfs, think Griffin will back the wingers up with Rawsthorne

| The Jake Connor signing is proving to be an inspired piece of business from Lee Radford/Motu.
Despite not been original first choice, he has shown real resilience and great attitude.
There is no doubt even this early on, that we really have a player on our hands, and he’s going to get better.!!
One of very few these days with real vision, outstanding ball handling and that rare brilliance of the unexpected.
I just hope we have him or a long while. He can achieve everything within the game. Hopefully with us.
We should look after this one.

He has a quick turn of pace, which is arguably more important than top end in our game. Don't think he's had a chance to really open the throttle for us yet but he's been quick enough to jump through the line a few times.

| Interesting reading back over some of the more negative posts from the usual suspects when his signing was announced .
He's been great for us this year and is ahead of Griffin for a starting spot next season, top recruitment once again.

I was one who saw him as just a utility player but he has shown us that he has a real brain, can collect high crossfield kicks, can pass a ball with ease and is a wingers dream as a centre.
When he receives the ball you now expect something to happen.
I would like to see him hold down the right centre position but unfortuneately for him his utility value will probably see him moved around again.
Miles ahead of Griffin as a centre.
He is not slow but as someone has said if he had real pace he would be a superstar.

Fingers crossed. Without wanting to tempt fate these sorts of articles often indicate a done deal, would love that to be the case.'"
Indeed and certainly sounds positive. I do think Jake is a different player under the new coaching team and think that will no doubt have played a big part should he sign.

I think BH gives players more licence to play what's in front of them, which suits Jake as an instinctive player. Would love to see him commit for another 3 years or something.

Alot of errors, particularly under the high ball which is unusual for him, but still make a try and looked dangerous in the 2and half.
Need to get him signed up, along with a few others, particularly
Brown, Cator, Griffin and Savelio
Next would be Satae and Sao
Swift probably, big decision on Faraimo as we cant carry an overseas winger out of the 17, such a waste of a quota spot.
Ma'u needs to have a big few games also to get a new deal.
I'd probably keep them all, with the exception of Faraimo and use the quota spot to sign a hooker or another forward

Agree with all of that.
It's tough on Faraimo because as much as I rate him an adequate non quota replacement could be be found in SL. In fact if Vulikijapani is a success another winger may not be needed. Maybe Shaul could even play there as well.
Ma'u is a difficult one. He's an exceptional player but hasn't shown consistently what he can do. He'll also be 33 and I would imagine one of the high earners. Better value may be found elsewhere.
I like the idea of another hooker to compliment Houghton. He's got plenty of miles on the clock but doesn't seem to be slowing down and he rarely gets injured but that can't last forever. Maybe look at a more dynamic hooker similar to Litten but obviously better quality.
Above all the most important thing is to resign all the other names you mentioned.

No, I think he's dependable and won't let you down. I was agreeing with Dave K. If we had a quota place available a hooker would be an option. I don't think we should use it on a winger if we decide to let Faraimo go.
How do you see it? Interested to know what others think. Maybe I'm in the minority.

I am not a big fan of Johnstone just think there is something missing in his play, whether he develops his game who knows but see little point adding another 9 to the squad as Danny Houghton still has a couple of years at the top and he seems as fit or fitter than Roby who is still playing now at 35.
I do agree we shouldnt waste a quota space on a winger when we are well served at the moment with the real prospect of Vulcan making an impact once he gets a chance.
If he is released Faraimo should consider himself unlucky as i have him ahead of Fonua on perfomances we have seen

| Houghton is the problem, he’s like the Duracell bunny, and he keeps reinventing himself as well, first he’s tackle 52, now he’s tackle 85.
He’s now a half back as well, Captain, and a man of steel. no wonder Jez fexxxd off, One position not needed for change is his, God bless Danny Houghton.

| I can't see the club investing in a hooker when we have two and young Hookem in the academy. We will need to replace Mint at some point but this year is too early.
If we do have cap room and even a quota spot available after resigning everyone the I think another forward is a priority. If the NZ Warriors have anyone available with the same quality as Sao and Satae then I wouldn't say no.

And hopefully we can start producing our academy players more consistently, I’ve not seen a lot of these kids yet, but I thought Hookem was a scrum half, think we have a lad from Leeds, Morley who is a nine, As said, I haven’t seen them play recently, apologies if mistaken.

Hookem has played hooker. As has MacNamara thinking about it.
We seem to have a bit of a lost generation with the youngsters. We can blame the CoHA for now but we really need to start bring more through. I get really jealous when I see Saints and Wigan teams and have to Google who their forwards are.
