| Jason Demetriou has been sacked by South Sydney, feel sorry for him, he seems to have been the victim of boardroom level politics to a certain extent, but on field results have ultimately sealed his fate. I'm sure he will find a position soon enough either NRL or SL

The timing seems to have worked out very well for Hull fc to make a play for his services. I wouldn’t bet against it.

He'd be daft IMHO to join Hull, who are a club who are almost the double of Souths - interfering board - players with egos the size of planets - a general lack of unity within the club that will take years to fix. I'm not saying JD couldn't eventually crack it, though I'm not sure anybody can under the current ownership - but you'd have to wonder why he'd want to put himself through all that a second time and so soon.
SL is an option for him, but he needs to choose wisely imo.

I don't think he needs to come to SL. An assistant job out there is still probably better paid and you can stay near family and the sun.
I can see Bennett coming in for him.

Funnily enough, I've just been reading on Fox League that Wayne Bennett is Souths’ No.1 target to replace Demetriou in 2025.

| JD has got a job in the media working as part of the commentary team at Triple M at least until the end of the 2024 NRL season, working alongside the likes of James Graham former St Helens and Great Britain player
Wonder if he fancies a stint on Trinity TV alongside TC?

| Should we get to Wembley it would be nice if JD would be a guest commentator for Trinity TV.

| If we get to Wembley he should be invited to speak to the players.
He's far to valuable to be a summariser on Trinity TV

| JD messed up really. His mantra was apparently about player power, and trusting player professionalism. Unfortunately, his roster had players who needed tight management. Latrell Mitchell. Cody Walker. Highly talented but a tight leash required.
He'll come back, and be better for it, but serious questions arose as to his ability to manage big personalities.

Spot on.
We view JD through rose tinted specs which is fair enough. We wanted him to succeed, but in truth he failed miserably and from day one.
However some of the best coaches of all time failed badly to start with. Alex Ferguson did and I believe Wayne Bennett did, loads of them.
I’m sure that now he’s no longer in the thick of it he can clearly see where he failed and if he’s what we hope he is he won’t make that mistake again. Go Jason.

The new regime don't seem to be able to control Mitchell either

If they really think he is going to turn a corner then they may as well believe in pixies
