OK, to set the ball rolling....

I was really impressed by PC yesterday. icon_biggrin.gif

That's not to say that I think he's been playing well in previous weeks - from what JK said at last weeks 'Audience With..' even PC reckons he's not been playing well, but yesterday showed what PC can do for the side.

IMO he was the calm, controlling head in the middle of the park. He became the link in our passing movementsl; put the majority of our kicking game together - including the one for George's try; made big yards with penalty kicks; kicked well for goal and scored a decent try himself. He was also 'Johnny on the spot' for a number of loose balls - and he was there because he'd got himself back into position!

So, whilst acknowledging that he is NOT a SH, I do think that it will prove wise to have brought him to the club - being the best available / affordable talent - and that people should judge him on his performances and on what OUR club say about his contribution to the side.

PC was very clearly 'one of the boys' yesterday - if they can accept him in that manner, so should we! icon_biggrin.gif

Agree with most of that, I have not been one of those who have slagged him off. Let's hope he and the rest of the team can push on and put in good performances vs Leeds and Wigan. I think we'll have a much better idea of whether then corner has been turned at that point. IMO confidence plays a big part and hopefully yesterdays game can spur us on.

For once, I'm actually looking forward to these games - amazing what a decent win can do.

Yep, good game from Cooke and shows he still has the ability. With support instead of heckling
hopefully he can kick on from this.

really glad for his confidence shame we have 2 weeks off now. Pleased for him he had some very classy touches. But a lot of credit goes to our forwards we steam rolled them yesterday down the middle .

Never really thought of it before TRB mentioned it but remembering all the KR and FC games I've seen on TV Cookie does seem to drop on a lot of loose balls with those Mr (Tickle) Pokeybum arms.
I hope he continues the form!

Paul Cook may take a little longer to settle in, but I think he is getting there, and when he fully clicks we will be very happy...

C'mon Cookie show us what you can do....

Good to here "eveyone" played better, as for Cooke, he needs to put a series of good games together, two tough encounters coming up being an ideal opportunity.

Saw the thread title and wondered if it was some kind of swappage deal. icon_lol.gif

Pleased for Cookie, (and the squad and staff generally after some of the stick they have been getting) and pleased I gave him a bit more time to settle and gel. He, more than anyone, knows he has to keep this up, and a couple more confident team performances will certainly help.

Well played indeed.

What's confusing you is the nature of my game:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_38576.gif

Im also pleased for him and have not criticised as it cannot be easy to come into a new team mid season in that position and suddenly start running things. Not to mention if your fitness is not yet 100%.

I dont know if were expecting to extend the deal next year but if we are IMO he will be a much better player after a trin pre season.

I reckon I am the only one who hasn't thought he was that bad for the last few weeks, if a little out of condition. Playing in the halves when he is clearly better suited to the 13 shirt can#t have helped. Seemed to take the line on a bit more yesterday, rather than just going for the mirracle ball.

I have criticised him because up to now, he's looked disinterested and a bit lazy.

He played out of his skin yesterday though - if he continues to put in performances like that, I'll be very happy to have been proved wrong.

Someone I was with also said that he looks like Mr Tickle when he's running and his great long arms are flapping about!
