Eastern Wildcat:
Just had chance to listen to the one with Ted Richardson.
A good interview and very enlightening.
Although I don't really know the bloke and still don't, I do see him in a different light as to how I perceived him to be, from hermaring others.
Kudos to him for standing up to the RFL with the parachute payment for a voluntary relegation.
Some may well have sold us down the river
Agreed, half way through listening to it. I think TR always has the best interest of the club at heart, he just couldn't financially support it any longer.
It's quite eye opening what went on behind the scenes, and at the time it seemed to be paranoia that we felt the RFL were always looking for ways to get us out of SL, but from what TR was saying, it was actually true.
I don't think it helped he got his kids involved with the club and that seemed to be a stick to beat him with, but he's still a fan after all this time since he departed, and I guess there are not many former chairman/club owners who would do that if they did not hold the club with great affection.
