Younger people have other things to do. We see plenty at the games but meetings aren't of interest to them. Let's be honest, a vast majority of people aren't interested in the politics of a club they just want to see a game.

I previously posted a suggestion to open Belle Vue so we could actually see how many are willing to show support by attending. Sunday afternoon would be ideal at what would be kick off time and this would be the perfect opportunity for MC to sell the vision
I just feel this would be a way to send out a message of our intent to the RL world and the media that we are prepared to stand shoulder to shoulder and actually get of our backsides.

I may be alone in thinking this but it's so easy to use the Internet and what we want is some physical presence

Any others feel the same?

Hey they have other things to do, like facebook and GTA, but its alright for others to make time for this.

I kind of get it; if someone had told me when I was 20 that I would be a school governor, helping to run a jr rugby club and attending meetings like this at BV, I'd have laughed in their face; young people, as a rule, just don't get involved in stuff like this - maybe they feel they have better (more selfish) things to do or maybe they feel powerless to help.

I'm sure there are ways to engage them, but not in the traditional, 'let's have a meeting' kind of way.

I'm young-ish (25) and I attended the other Monday night.

Most young people come with their parents to the game, so if the parents didnt go then that will obstruct the young one's too. As they wont drive and Belle Vue aint the easiest or cheapest place to get too without a car (2 buses/taxi etc). Young people also like you mention have other things to do when they get home from school/college project work, actual part time jobs or GTA icon_wink.gif or what not.

Everyone knew that event was a handout plea session and what money have the younger people got to give. How much spare cash did you have when you were 18 to donate, buy platinum ticket, have direct debits etc.

Some will have the capacity to do so, most won't.

Not as clear cut as young people couldnt be bothered.

Also most young people have access to forum, social media, to understand what is happening at the club (doubt all the 60+ who attended that meeting can find out whats happening any other way than at such a meeting)

Small rant over.

Of course its not and i only said it in jest.

But to say young people "have other things to do" is a bit shallow imo.
