| I didn't manage to get to the game on Sunday due to work commitments, but understand Glen Barraclough wasn't there again. If I remember rightly he wasn't there against the Bulls either and wondered if anyone knew anything? Has he left the club?
Also, I know the programme was heavily criticised last season and rightly so. Any better this year?

| Glen Barraclough was there, he was sat in the stands where he usually sits, with walkie talkie, and clipboard in hand.
Whoever said he wasn't there should have gone to specsavers

| The programme is still an embarrassment and appears to be produced by someone who has never seen a Rugby/Football programme before. The main problem is that there are no teams, which is a surprise as there was for the pre-season matches. There is just a squad list, which is next to useless if you want to see the team for the day, and is totally useless if you are an away fan as there is nothing at all. I would be very annoyed if I were a Batley fan and bought our programme as there was no mention of them. If it stays as it is I would think that nobody will buy one again as the vast majority of it will be the same as the first one.

Thanks Darren for your positive comments. I wasn't at the game on Sunday, but was at the game against the Dulls and didn't see GB on the pitch during the warm ups like usual. Maybe this is left the Paul R now. As for seeing in the stands, if Specsavers provide glasses so I can see everyone sat in the stands from my position on the terraces then I should get a pair!

I want to be careful not to say too much out of turn here, however, I am aware that some, including tireless work by an RL fans poster, are trying to re-vamp the programme, but are being frustrated in their efforts. I would hope this is work in progress, but I'm sure if anyone had some constructive comments/recommended inclusions this would be taken on board.

| Well done on the efforts to revamp your programme. It certainly needs it. In the meantime, perhaps you could stop charging fans £2.50 for a business-adverts pamphlet.

We are as miffed about the program as you.

| I have often thought that it would be a good and possibly cheap idea, to do some sort of deal with Keighley College to get there media department to do the program for each match, I think this would be beneficial for the club and the college students as they would get a taste working for a publication and obviously the club would benefit from a better programme.

Good idea, but I think that's one for the club. I think the content is the key to the programme which was a main gripe about the Batley issue. There just seems to be pages of adverts. There has to be a happy medium because I'm sure the adverts are a much needed income stream for the club, but these should be subtle, not pages of them.

| I sort of post this on behalf of others and with benefit hopefully to the club.
I know from past posts etc that the early issues of the programme were below an acceptable standard. I know there is a great amount of work going on to turn this around and wondered if people had recently bought one? If you did what were your thoughts?
The price of £2.50 to me is steep and considering Batley's was £1 and they sold out speaks volumes.
Inside this weeks issue should be:
Q&A's with JD
Q&A's with Gary about merchandising etc...
Keith Lee's review of the Championship games
Pen pics and players to watch from Hunslet
Plus a new addition?
I say should as I am told this is what has been sent, but sometimes what comes back in the finished product is not always what was expected.
So I can feed it back into those putting in the hard work I'd be interested to have people's views, constructive of course. Comments like "it's rubbish" are no use to anyone and people are putting work in to make it better.

| OK, we all know that there's a minimum price to break-even. Is this known? Has it been calculated on 'average sales' against advertising income? What is the minimum number of programmes that need to be printed to break-even?
I stopped buying a programme when it became too expensive for its value (I even edited it for a couple of years) and continued to buy it until I acknowledged that it was no-longer 'value for money'. Hence these comments (I suppose).
Instead, I pay my £2 for tickets for the 'Half-Time Draw' in the hope that it will do some direct good for the club.
I used to enjoy 'King of the Kop' and 'Cath-O'Dray' - where have they gone?
I also remember when a programme was 6d (2.5p), and that was 'real value'.
That said, I do hope that a sensible solution can be arranged for the Warrington game and that the turnstiles will be adequately manned, and suficient open - by REAL people instead of the cadets (who do a reasonable job).
I also hope that the number of people entering Cougar Park will be accurately monitored so that the takings can be balanced!

| To add to a comment by the right honourable 666 ....... I presume using the cadets is a damn sight cheaper and i'm sure they do a sterling effort but are they not a tad too young to be manning the turnstiles and wandering about the terracing in yellow hiviz bibs giving the impression they are stewards , if this is the case are they fully trained up and wouid they be able cope in an emergency ? I was a steward & first aider at cougar park in the early 90s and we were always having training and updates to our first aid etc etc . I hope this is the case with the cadets too !

What on earth, would make you think it would not be done right?
