Winger Dom Manfredi (thumb) and centre Oliver Gildart (groin) are both recovering from injuries which kept them out of the opening two rounds.
And full-back Bevan French only linked-up with the squad on Thursday after a late return from Australia.
They aren’t far away from being available for selection, but Lam said: “None of those three will appear in the next two or three weeks.
"It’s where we’re at, but one of the good things is we’re winning without them and if we keep the confidence and momentum, it’ll make us even stronger when they’re back.”
Lam is also missing winger Liam Marshall until June and his back options were further reduced by an injury to Aussie Jai Field in the opening round which will sideline him for five months

So its play with what weve got for the next 2 matches (York, Leeds). A chance of returns for Cas, but probably Hull on the 29th

Has Manfredi had a thumb replacement? Long time be out with a thumb injury. Lam said 4 weeks, 4 weeks ago. Smokescreen for another knee injury?

Doubt it, they were honest about it every other time so I don't see why they would lie. Plus he's a local lad who presumably lives nearby, it would be pretty risky to lie about a leg injury if a fan could just spot him limping about or in a cast or whatever.

Does seem like they don't really want to "risk" Manfredi. But a thumb injury seems pretty trivial out of all injuries it could be.

I also don't get how 4 weeks has turned into 7 or 8.

I think Lam likes to give best case at first rather than being realistic. He said Field would be five months but I did notice him add ‘at least’ in a couple of interviews, so wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 2022 when we see him again.

Fingers crossed there are no more delays with Manfredi and Gildart. If it’s three weeks until they’re 100% fit then fair enough. The team are battling away in their absence and will hopefully have us in a good spot when these lads come back. It would be nice to think we get through in the cup and then we can get a game or two out of them prior to the Cup Quarters, especially if it’s a bumper tie.
