| I don't know whether it's just me but I couldn't care less about league positions this year. Usually I check the table before and after matches to see where we are and see where we could end up in the best/worst case scenarios but this year I haven't even checked the table once.
The play off system has completely under valued the actual league and I just don't care about where we finish this year as long as its in the top 8.
Let Warrington and Huddersfield fight it out and play their best week in week out all season and fail in the play offs again.

| All this stuff about Leeds winning from fifth has undermined the league positions, and they only beat Wire by the skin of their teeth..i doubt it will be done again anytime soon and normal order will resume, so a third or fourth place finish will mean doing it the hard way.

4916_1342356991.gif Rugby league must be a great game to survive the people who run it.

No its not just you. I have never liked the play offs as such they just make a mockery of a team flogging it's guts out all year to be top of the table and what for? Everyone just takes the p*ss out of the trophy you get for being league leaders as it is referred to by all as the hub cap. Being the most consistent team all year is a great achievement but has been completely forgotten about with Hemmings & Co ranting on about Old Trafford in October from day one of every new season and I couldn't agree more - let's get in the top 8 and give it our best shot from there. It's a long season and hopefully some of our up and coming players of the future will get some more experience along the way (although not all at once next time!) so we will have a good sized healthy squad when we need it most as I can't help looking at some of the other teams and thinking they have key players who will make a great difference to their team's performance if they are not there. For me the most significant problem for us last night, ahead of all indiscipline and other matters, was the injury to Pat Richards midway through the first half. Pat seemed ok again in the 2nd but was struggling for the remainder of the first half and a couple of times wasn't able to get to kicks meant for him and good as Josh is at goal kicking in general we missed Pat in that area as well.

This is exactly what I think. In every season bar 2 the G/F has been won by the two top teams. That trend will continue.

Only because the best teams have always finished in the top 2. This season that may well not be the case.

It's only marginally more difficult to win it from 4th compared with 1st.

Can't disagree at all. Unfortunately I bought our season tickets believing that we would want to win the league and challenge cup and would play accordingly. Perhaps the RFL should introduce a 'playoff season ticket' then I won't be obliged to watch a comedy of errors all year and will be less frustrated.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| I think that winning from 5th was a bit of a freak last year, but it has certainly made people in the game question the headlong dash for 1st and 2nd. Will this help the standard of play in the SL generally?

| Leeds winning from fifth will be rarely emulated. Leeds had a bad first half of the season due to injuries to McGuire and peacock. With those two back we were a far better side than the likes of Huddersfield. The winners this year will come from the top 4

| The current ridiculous play-off system and the lack of prestige given to winners of the hubcap means that this stage of the season is little more than a succession of warm up matches before the business end of the season.
It's obvious from last night that both teams are way off their peak and this is no accident. Leeds have shown that it is much more important to time a run of good form than to try to play consistently well all season, now that there is much less benefit in finishing 1st or 2nd.
It's a good job that there is so much rivalry between the fans because the result in itself doesn't matter much, sadly and without that rivalry last night's game would have been a non-event.
