| How do you lot think he would perform at prop? I've seen him a few times around Wigan, looks like he's put some size on...

Probably has.
But I'm new to the forum, so if you can show me where it's been discussed before, then, please do...

The plan is to play him at prop. At least that's our understanding.
Welcome.

| It seems to me that all the best props have been back row forwards first. It means they still have the pace to break the line. McTigue, as far as I am aware, even began in the centres.
Peacock, Kevin Ward, Clawson, Morley, Graham, Platt, Les Boyd are just a few magnificent props who made the transition.

| rlHock interview with JJB in rugby league worldrl
"On coming back to playing, I just want to get back in the back row, get a spot back. Obviously Joel Tomkins and Harrison Hansen have been playing well and they have Ryan Hoffman coming in. I just want to get a starting position. I will train hard now to get fit and get back. There's a little rumour going around that i might have a go at prop, and although i don't mind playing prop i would like to get my back row spot, run a little wider and do what i'm good at."
So it seems Gaz wants to go straight back into the Back row. Thats ideally were i'd like him to play but i geuss the main thing is what is best for the team as a whole although it's probably looking better in that regards with Joel in at centre. Really looking forward to him getting back playing again was my favorite player before his ban and hopefully he'll be able to get upto speed quite quickly and is firing on all cylinders for the playoffs.

| I know there's been a lot of talk of Hock putting on a load of size during his time away - but if he's a similar build as he was - or even if he's bigger and retained his pace - there's no reason he can't also be aimed at 2nd row/centre role similar to Joel.
Hock's wide running is incredibly destructive, and as much as we all remember his brain-farts, his offloads could also be sensationally effective. He's got the speed, the power and the hands to be an outstanding centre. We've a plethora of back-rowers at the moment and short on centres.
Joel and Hock lining up in the centres, with Hoffman/Farrell/Mossop rotating in the 2nd row. Now that's a scary thought.

| I agree with Joel in the centres. He has the attributes to be successful there but i certainly dont think Hock has and with time/age he'll go the opposite way ie futher into the centre of the pitch.
To me Hock isnt light footed enough nor does he have the raw pace that Joel has. Adding to that i think centres need to be clever no disrespect to gaz but i just think he's a back rower fullstop but will be a bruising front rower in a few years. Joel seems like he's got a decent brain on him despite the odd brain fart he has, and the biggest thing going for Joel is his age he's just about at the right age to swap positions with a decade of rugby infront of him.
