Is there anyone else out there who thinks Brian Carney is more of a legend now as a commentator/summeriser than he was as a player ?
I just love the way he calls almost every play spot on and takes the P**S out of the two clowns who are Eddie and Stevo with every opportunity. I just think he is a legend of the highest order(apart from that little blip going to play for wire, but hey he done nowt there ).

And, unlike some Sky commentators, he doesn't appear to be biased towards any side.

I can see Eddie and Stevo getting annoyed with Carney and he's a breath of fresh air for viewers.

He points out and correct some of their ridiculous claims and comments and sets them straight.

However, I can still sense abit of Wigan love in him.

Not the best presenter as it has been stated but he can clearly demonstrate he knows a lot about the game and is unbiased in his views. A few more years and he'll be far more confident IMO.

Hopefully we can then retire Eddie & Stevo and have either Carney with Clarke or John Wells.

he still works at wire, however he still very much loves wigan. In the office the other day they mensioned I supported wigan and would be going the game, he was over the moon and wanted to know my opinion on the team and our chances of getting to the final and Madge etc. he was like a fan.

He embarrasses Stevo but thats because Stevo is too old. His era is long bygone, Carney has played the modern game at every level. His quick noticing of the Keith Mason stamp the other week showed how sharp he is.

But he was bang on disagreeing with Eddie's verdict of 'lucky' when talking about Goulding's try. How on Earth can you call a one handed pick up when surrounded by opposition players as lucky?

I thought that too. Goulding did very well, not just to pick that ball up one handed, but then to shrug off the Leeds defenders and get the ball down. It was a great piece of play and took a lot more scoring than he was given credit for, it certainly wasnt lucky.

i thought he was critising tomkins in first leeds game too much for clamping ars in the tackle
i know hes doing it on purpose but its only the same as lieing on and other little tricks that every one in the league does
think he leans towards wire abit personally
