| I watched the Monday night NRL game here Sharks v Souths and even though Trent is one of the better performers along with Tupou and Gallen I am still wonering why he has joined the Sharks with regards to his career? They have a good coach in Ricky Stuart but the Sharks will undoubtedly run last in the NRL this year as they are awful.
I know Trent had a three year deal and his wife wanted to go back to Aus but with regards to his career at club level it was a move backwards in my opinion. He played Origin last year which may make an argument he was right to do so but from what i have seen Cronulla are awful on the pitch and by all accounts are in financial strife.
I am not convinced watching Monday's game that the NRL at the lower end is any better than SL-teams like Cronulla, Souths, Titans and Canberra have been awful from what i have seen so far. You also know having seen some the players from these teams in SL if they are any good or not as some of them get built up in the NRL to be better than what they actually are, i dont believe some players currently in SL are better than our own youth system, they just need an opportunity to develop and perform in SL.

| So moving from the NRL to a wigan team struggling to avoid relegation was a step up in his career then? And moving back to the NRL is a step backwards?
Or is he just going where the biggest pay cheque is?

However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

| Completely hypothetical question:
If Barrett had stayed, would he have carried us to a few more wins last year?
If he had, would Nobby have been replaced?
Obviously that would have meant no Madge and X more years of "more of the same".
Therefore, indirectly, did Trent do us a favour by leaving?
(Utter speculation and conjecture, I know)

| I wouldn't quite call Titans a weaker side considering they are currently second in the ladder after winning 3 from 3 and finished 3rd in the table last year!
As for Trent decision to move to Sharks I think he's been a bit unlucky, the year that he signed for them they were flying ending up getting within 80 minutes of a grand final, unfortunately they've had some bad luck and last year they struggled and it looks like its going to be much of the same. I'm pretty sure though seeing how Cronulla were going when they signed him he wouldn't have thought it was a step backwards!

Great. Why not ask people on the NRL forum? Trent's not played for us for over 18 months.

What has that got to do with anything?
I can see plenty of topics on here about none Wigan players should all those be moved as well?
Believe it or not some fans still like Trent and like any ex player the occassional thread on what he's up to isn't a bad thing.

Ok then.
What's David Vaealiki up to these days? And for that matter, Greg Florimo? Some fans liked them.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Again what's your point?
I don't know what the two above mentioned are doing BTW. I can however tell you what Tim Smith, Gaz Hock, Terry Newton, Chris Ashton, Graham Lowe & Sean Edwards are doing thanks to this forum. Funny how I didn't see you calling for those threads to be moved so what's the difference?
It's fine if you don't respect how great Trent was for Wigan just don't expect others not to care what a great former Wigan player is doing.
