| Must have been quite a few to get stuck in this behind us on the M62 just before Bradford.
I think someone jumped off a bridge onto the motorway because the police were taping round the bridge and it's described on the website as a "serious incident" rather than a crash.
We got lucky that we was in right late to exit and the queue to get off wasn't too bad.

This reminds me of when I used to live in London and people inconsiderately lobbed themselves under tube trains. Damn inconvenient.

Dropped a mate off at Doncaster to catch his train back to London after the match meaning we got caught up in it.
Well worth the trip though

We were saying the same thing, reckon someone chucked themselves off the bridge.

| OK, I dont know the facts and yes sympathy to the family, but if it was a suicide by jumping off the bridge from the roadway above, then I dont have too much sympathy for the victim.
What about the unfotunate motorist below who now has to contend with that for the rest of their lives ? Not to mention they could have been killed too.
Before everyone starts flaming me, I did say I dont know the facts.
Apologies in advance if I am wrong.

I feel sorry for anyone who comes to the point in his/her life where he/she feels he/she would be better off dead, how could anyone not?

Exactly. Its sad if someone feels they have to kill themselves BUT the motorists don't deserve to be involved and thats why I fail to find sympathy for the victim.

I'm not advocating it obviously, but this person clearly wasn't in the right state of mind to be thinking of these things as you or I might.

I remember driving down to London and a bloke tried to climb over the fence on a bridge in an apparent attempt to jump off just as I was driving under it. I saw in my rear view mirror, though, some other bloke who had chased him and stopped him doing it.
Not that I think he actually intended to jump as it didn't take much effort to pull him back. Plus, if he was really serious, he would have chosen a tall building, rather than a 20ft bridge.

reminds me of the guy a couple of weekends back...threatened to jump off the severn bridge?
M5 was closed for 7 hours why police tried to talk him down causing tailbacks for miles.
after 7 hours the inconsiderate sod jumped off.
why didnt he do it 7 hours earlier to save all the hassle.

| I think we'll leave this thread here now. I don't care if its inconsiderate or not, theres still a mourning family somewhere who have to deal with the sad consequences. That's if there has been a death which sadly it sounds like.
