After the Thackary fiasco last year I'm sure it will be watertight this year!
Isn't there an "Amnesty" before the 1/4's as well i.e even if you have played in a previous round for another club or din't sign before the deadline for rounds 3 & 4 you can still play in the Qtr's???

| Anybody who is to play in the 1/4s, semi or final must be registered by the close of business on the Monday immediately prior to the 1/4.

| I wouldnt get too excited even if we do sign Gleeson. IMO his best years have passed him a long time ago. Even at his best he was never the complete centre. I remember Saints fans moaning that he didnt pass enough to his winger. His main strengths were his footwork and being able to wrong foot the opposition.

Which is something we don't have at the moment with Bailey at centre.

| He's arguably the second best centre in SL behind Senior (well maybe Gidley but I don't like the shirt he wears on match days )

Thursday of this week i think for Super League players the day before the Competition kicks off for the Super League clubs if they have played in the cup already i think they are cup tied until the 1/4 finals but not 100% on that

Shenton
Atkins
Carmont
Gidley
Sykes
Senior
Webster
Clubb
Whaturia
All players I would say are better than Gleeson in SL only. Off the top of my head.

issued in January as following
The RFL has announced a number of operational rule changes for the Carnegie Challenge Cup which will come into force for the 2009 competition.
There will now be no deadline for teams to register players for the Carnegie Challenge Cup prior to the Quarter Finals stage. Up to and including Round 5 of the competition players correctly registered for their club will be eligible to play cup fixtures.
Players can still be Cup tied in that a player cannot play for more than one member club or more than one non member club in the competition. Players who have played for a non member club in the early rounds of the competition remain eligible to sign for a member club and play for that club in later rounds.
From the Quarter Finals onwards only players registered before Monday 25 May will be able to play in the latter stages of the competition.
Meanwhile, any competing club found to have fielded an ineligible player at any stage of the competition will be disqualified, unless a club can prove no fault or negligence on their part.
For the avoidance of doubt any club disqualified from the competition for fielding an ineligible player will be replaced by its most recent cup opponent - irrespective of the result of that match - even if the offence was committed in an earlier round.
