Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

| There's a thread on the TotalRL forum about defunct amateur clubs and one poster's said that they seemed to remember a London club called McEntee. This rings a faint bell with me from way back (possibly even pre-Fulham) - can anyone here help?

| The played out of Walthamstow and were a product of London Schools Rugby League in the late 70's early 80's.
They were Hemel's first ever opposition - we lost 38-0 at Pennine Way on 5 April, 1981.

| Many thanks - any idea where the name came from? Sounds like a company one to me.

cartoons/WB24.gif Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.:cartoons/WB24.gif |

Chronicler, They also ask about Hornsey Lambs. The club name comes from Lams restaurant on Hornsey High Street. It is a corruption of that. I think one of the founders had a direct link to it.

| I think Hornsey's nickname was linked to a failed sponsorship deal with Lambs rum.
Hornsey's founder became the first full-time RL Development person in London in the late 80's operating in the Borough of Brent.

Seem to remember that they gave him an office (well, cupboard) in the hockey stadium in Willesden. I think he became disillusioned and gave up, but I'm not sure - after Fulham moved back to Crystal Palace I tended to lose interest.
