| If Wigan do us at favour at Cas, it would seem that a play-off place is still up for grabs. If we by some miracle we beat both Cas and Wire we would be almost certain to get a place. Cas, Les Cats and Wire seem to want to avoid the play-off poison chalice as much as we do. It is bizarre. Surely we can't get into the play-offs by default can we? I am not sure getting in flogged in the play-offs would do us any good. Any observations? I can't see us winning again this season but who knows.
I know Mr Lister wants us to lose both games so that there is more pressure on Brian to go, but does anybody have any sensible views on this.

Where have I said that? Even if I did have that view (which I don't), I think that would be perfectly sensible. I have no desire to see the team reach the playoffs by some sort of fluke and then get panned. The 8 team format is a joke and our season deserved to be over weeks ago.

| Not quite sure i want to get into the play offs, simply because we do not deserve to get there. 1 win in the last 10 is a horrible statistic, it would be rediculous if we get into the 8, but i would probably go to the match we get though.

| If we sneaked in the play offs and then won a game then this season would at least end with a silver lining (i.e. we have never won a play off game before).
Realistically it won't happen, but then look at Bradford, they've gone from playing like Laurel and Hardy to one of the form teams in the comp. Whether we have the playing talent and toughness to mount a challenge is the question (sadly we probably all know the answer to the question ).
Under normal circumstances in seasons past Castleford at home and Warrington away are fixtures we have been able to get something from. Two weeks is a long time, but they need to be used more productively than simply flogging the players.
Agreed with the idea – the fact we're in contention to challenge for the title from a play off spot isn't quite right, we've been terrible for over half a season.

I've lost interest already. if we finish 8th (or 7th) we'll have an away play-off, probably on a Friday night, at less than a week's notice; too late for me to arrange to go even if I cared. As far as I'm concerned if you finish in the middle of the table you're not remotely a champion team and I'm not interested in the play-offs even if we qualify. And if we ever finish top of the league table we're the true champions and I still won't be interested in the play offs, which will be meaningless and irrelevant.

| Alright we've been abysmal this last 10 games, but if we do reach the 8 we will have done so because
we got more points than others OVER THE WHOLE SEASON
we will have won our last two games in effectively a knockout situation
I can understand the pessimism; I've sat through it just like you have! But to be honest if we do win those two games we will be entering the playoff with some momentum. Then its real knockout football.
If we get into the 8 we will do so because we deserve to. Frankly I can't see it but we do - WATCH OUT!

| We don't deserve to be asked, nor winning our last two games do we deserve to finish in the top 8. At the moment (CC excluded) we are the worst team in SL by far. No effort, energy idea or skill. Best thing we could do now is to clear out a number of the current first team and let some of the reserves have a run out.
For what is worth watch the highlights on the Superleague show - one bloody poor set of individuals outclassed.

Jesus wept......I just did Were we told it was tag rugby? Tackling is 1 of the basic skills needed to play RL, as is hanging on to the ball.....glad we only got 2 minutes of action to watch....terrible.
How Brian Mac can come out with his comment about it being "one of the bravest things he had seen keeping them to 4 second half points" is beyond me.
WTF......this is Hull FC. They are at the tail end of another bad season and from what I have seen on the SL Show highlights, we just stood there and let them run through us.

| IIRC,one of the franchise points is achevements on the playing field,ie not allways finishing in the bottom part of the table, and QUALIFYING FOR THE PLAY-OFFS.
If thats so,and we do survive the next couple of years( as i feel the club is in terminall decline, please God im wrong) thenregular play off football is vital for a future franchise application.
If we do or dont deserve it is another matter.

I wrote about this a little while back. If the rfl use the same criteria as the last round of applications we must finish 6th or better next season to get this point.
2008 - 9th
2009 - 9th (?)
2010 - 6th
2011 - Franchise applications in before final positions known
(9+9+6) / 3 = 8
Top 8 or higher average needed over three seasons.

Yes, so we can all say it is his fault not Brian McDermott's.
Honestly, PMSL
