| Farewell to the best player i have seen in the C&G, wingers don't have the same impact as halfbacks and many would say Danny Brough was better but for me Jerry is the best player we have had in the time i have watched (Since Murphy was coach).
I remember when he first started playing and thinking he was special. First wingers couldn't stop him, then sides started trying to put forwards up against him when he came inside, they couldn't stop him. Then their biggest player would try to put a hit on him.. and came off second best. Unbelievably powerful, in his prime, the worst you got was great metres and a fast play the ball and around 50% of his carries resulted in a penalty when the opposition tried to contain him.
This is the guy that came close to winning player of the tournament in the 2017 world cup, this is the guy that truly was unstoppable from 5 metres out (boy is that phrase overused on players nowhere near Jerry's calibre). All this and every time he was interviewed he came across as not quite believing how good he actually was. Not a bad bone in him, never dirty, and produced the goods under pressure on the biggest stages for his country.
Goodbye Jerry, and good luck, you will be missed.

| I agree with everything that was said by HM2. What baffles me is why aren't we holding on to him as a club ambassador or something similar, His knowledge and professionalism is invaluable to the younger lads coming through the system now. I just think it is a big asset wasted by the club, for a lad who is Huddersfield through and through and has put himself and his club and Town on the map with his standout performances especially in an England Jersey.

| Can't believe he's been treated so shabbily, he's given everything on and off the field to Huddersfield and, IMO, is up there with the likes of Roby for consistency and quality of performance. He's still got much to offer, both on and off the field.

| Has been a terrific servant over so many years.Good luck to him with his next move. Probably wise for him if he's been offered a longer contract.

| it is disappointing if he wanted to continue and hasn't been offered a year when we have stiffs like Bibby in there. When he has been fit he's still been plenty good enough a 75% jerry is still better than most wingers in SL. If he was on reduced terms as he surely would be, it wouldn't be a disaster if he had another bad run of injuries.
Just read Jerry's press release and i'm fuming, to disrespect a Fartown Legend like that is unforgivable. Watson and the management needs to remember that long after he has left (as a failure i'm pretty sure) fans will remember Jerry, and now the way he was disrespected as he left the club. It really annoys me in any institution when the people in charge don't pay due respect to those who have worked for the organisation for far longer than they have. Disgraceful.

I get that he is upset to be leaving and Jerry has been brilliant for the Giants. However he is a one of the biggest names in RL in this country. He will have a top agent and no way will this have been left to the last minute. Something is not quite right here.

| IF & a big IF what I've read online is true, then the Giants organization should be ashamed of what they have done to such a player/person who has served our club with nothing with absolute dignity.

| I'll be honest, I've not seen you guys play this much last year, so how has he actually gone? His pace will have gone, same as Ryan Hall, but is he still good in backfield at those hard yards? Probably get a 1yr deal somewhere in SL

| Your loss our gain I suppose.
Always seemed a really decent bloke to me, so although he's not what he was, I think he'll take Trinity seriously and do well and probably prove a point.
As someone's said, at 75% he's better than most in SL, so should be a monster in the Championship.
