Reported in today's league express that Martin has signed a new 3 yr deal with Leigh which replaces his original 1 yr deal with the club. Great news and puts all the rumours to bed, our back row options next season are scary unless we are to use Martin in the front row.

It certainly is.

We certainly have a lot of back row options. I expect either Aspinwall or Hopkins will move primarily into the front row next season.

with Hopkins, Ostick, Penky and a back on the bench. I wouldn't mind that as our pack at all!

Add in Thornley, Briscoe etc who are all good options which gives competition for places plus any DC's and we are looking very strong up the middle of the field!

With that set of forwards our backs should have a field day

Be interesting to see how Duffy goes too.

PR wouldn't have signed him if he didn't think he would be a good asset to the side would he ?

I went to the Championship finals day and saw Duffy playing for Barrow - he is a man mountain but seemed very slow. Might be worth trying to shed a bit of weight and build up on his speed and fitness. I think hes only about 19 but without a doubt the biggest lad I have ever seen for that age playing.

Cant see Aspinwall starting at prop he could be the wide running second row we have been lacking since Sid Baldwin left, he could also fill in at centre at this level.
Never been a real fan of Finnegan but won't bag him as he now wears the shirt.

Wouldn't have minded giving one or both of the two lads Huddersfield have cut (Sarsfield and Molloy) but we are 'overstocked' with back rowers this year.
