I was told by current saints player who is friends with Jamie Ellis that he's in talks with hull about joining them for 2012.

Anyone heard this?

He is good enough, but thought Saints would take him back. 1 year deal at Leigh.

On the Ellis subject, hull have give him some time to think it over as he's not up for moving to hull and don't fancy the drive every day.

Ellis to Hull for two years before rejoining us for our first season in SL, likewise with Hill?

Do for me.....get em used to the pace for SL.

agree alan.....not the stage of the season were we need talk of things like this.

Think it's an inevitability that players availability will be discussed given our performances along with off-field matters. I'm sure the players would look on it as a compliment to be mentioned in the same breath as some really big clubs rather than seeing it as being unsettling.

Good performance from Jamie today despite the speculation then!

Ellis was brilliant today and one of his tries in the first half was astounding.

We all know he is a great player.

Thought we scored some good tries but Hunslet showed some good touches in our 20 metre area. Thought their fans were the real deal too.

We *know* that some of our players are bound to leave us for bigger, better & more successful clubs. Some of them might even take a step downward and leave for Salford, Widnes or W***n, but that's their mistake. The important thing is that they perform for us while they're here, and that we continue to produce and recruit great talent.

Right now, I'd prefer to concentrate on the pressing matters: our off-field future at boardroom level, and the truly excellent team we have on the field every week. Those lads play their hearts out for us, and with no little skill as well. Long may that continue! We'll worry about departures and recruits at the end of the season

As I said in the programme, Steve Simms has been complaining about mid-season speculation upsetting Stefan Ratchford - he's supposed to be off to Warrington or W***n next season. Then he ruined it all by saying they want a swift announcement on Shaun McRae's successor - thereby condoning the speculation involving coaches who are still under contract at their current clubs!
