Good to see Westhoughton leading the way!

Good news - but why not extend this to get folk from these areas watching us. Start by running a bus (or buses) from the areas targetted with free tickets for the game. For example, free bus & tickets for as many family members as possible connected with Westhoughton RL or any club in outside the Leigh area.
If, after a couple of games, it is a success, look at offering cheap tickets for a while to get them hooked, gradually building up to full price. Freebies would be going to outsiders who wouldn't attend otherwise so the club can't lose really.
At the end of the day we need bigger crowds.

Encouraging signs coming out of Leigh that we are at last realising our potential for the first time inall my years of watching RL.

it would be good if the club talked about 10 year plans instead of 3 year plans.

I believe Golborne Parkside could do with some help on the junior front any plans from the award winning community club to get involved in that area

I really don't see why we don't get say for example JRs to run a shuttle bus that covers areas like Atherton Train Station, Newton Le Willows Train Station, Culcheth, Astley, Westhoughton and Golborne. Run them early and drop people off at the Park Inn in exchange for the Park Inn sponsoring the bus?

Why dont you try get support from Walkden and leave Westhoughton to me?

John Duffy has been to St James Primary School for the last couple of weeks, my daughter has loved every minute of it. She came home this week with a 'draw Robbie Paul' compition.

Help in getting junior sides down at the club they have lost a load of kids ,great clubhouse good facilities .
Isnt that what you was posting the community dept was supposed to be doing attracting younger people to the game ?

No , the community dept at Leigh [ along with probably every other pro sports community dept ] focus's on two things

1 providing kids with a healthy activity [ quite often tied into their school work via numeracy and literacy ] that schools quite often no longer supply

2 attracting kids to the actual pro club providing the activity

Much of this work is grant funded [ which is why it has to be done primarily through schools and usually includes the said work on actual school work ' ie numeracy and literacy ' ] , that would probably preclude it from actually setting up and running individual amatuer club teams
