Miners will face the RAF in the charity match showdown,Kick off 3pm. The game will be presided over as always by the Mayor of Wigan and the Miners club in partnership with charity challenge sponsors Carlsberg Tetley will be making a £300 donation to the Help for Heroes cause, in addition to raffles in support of the charity. The game on the 15th will also be preceded by the Hilton Cup under-13s final.

Some people need to get a grip with their comments - there are alot of people in our local clubs trying to do their best and comments like that just really make me feel sorry for certain individuals, who maybe just want to cause animosity. Most coaches, players and true members of their clubs get on fine with each other and RESPECT each other.

find out your facts before posting, the holden cup should have been at east this year and east tried to get in touch with leigh league umptine times to sort it with no joy so thought it was cancelled and regardin last year east 2nds entered the champion challange thinking the holden cup was going to start after that cup so we thought it was a good idea to use as a good friendly to set us up for the holdin cup because it was decided so we thought to play the holden cup at the beginning of the season after champion challange because nwc leagues only start in september so the 2nd teams could have a proper holden cup with more than just us and miners in it

An enjoyable afternoon, well done to all the lads taking part, as expected the Miners were to good for them but the RAF kept trying and did themselves proud.
