Don't make many games, but any team with half a brain will realise that we are wide open on both flanks every time !

Fev got us on the counter good and proper and ran straighter lines. All wee seemed to do is run sideways and perform very technucal moves with no punch whatsoever. At times, it really was mundane to see.

Fevs defence won them the game today without a shadow of a doubt. I do not recall 1 true clean break at all, and this confirms my perception that once a team reads Leighs moves, we really can look pretty average.

The ref was a plonker for both teams, but we really need to sort our defensive line out. 2 quick passes and we are on the back foot. Sometimes our line speed is too quick as we are stood still whilst defending.

Did well to get within 8 at the end, as i feel we didn't really deserve it.

Well done Fev !! eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

Well deserved victory, and Leigh will need to play better if they are to pick anything up at Haven.

I think the fact that he can only see a certain number of games and still 'work us out' speaks volumes to be honest. Fev pinpointed all of our weaknesses, we didn't have a sniff of exploiting theirs. A very drilled performance and fully deserved win.

Still pretty damning bearing in mind that was our 1st league defeat this term................ seems like the vultures are circling the LSV already... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Constructive/destructive depends on which camp you sit. I`ll agree Fev were worthy of their win but to dismiss our play on one particular performance is damning in the least. But each to their own.......... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Understand where you are coming from Barty, but I would like to think that I have 'above average' knowledge of a very simple game which is RL.

Just because I am unable to make most games doesn't discount the other 30+ years that I have watched Leigh home and away.

Leigh need to simplify things more, and straighten up these 'flowery moves' with one player running away from the touchline. Ridyard and Donlan at 3 reciever need to straighten up IMHO. They are running the centre and wingers out of the way.

As for the defensive line, well, tonight speaks for itself. Our commitment to 'smash' the player rather than just tackle him can leave us vulnerable. 1 deft pass and one offload later, bingo!! Your 6 down !!

What we do will work with 75% of the teams in our division due to the fact that some teams are reluctant to give it some air. Your Fevs,Barrows' Widnes', Halifaxs' and dare I say it, Toulouse are capeable of making us look ordinary once confident levels with ball in hand improve.

Saying that, we are doing very well in a very competative league. Dropping only 3 points with a full half of the season gone just shows the improvement we have made. I just don't want us to be a 1 trick pony in the second half of the season.

Snowy I`m not doubting your knowledge of watching the Leyth, much the same as you should n`t knock mine of a greater time span.
I find it incredulous that some folks are on here ,after our FIRST league defeat by a very good Fev side, bemoaning our playing patterns............. I`ll go with IM and his superior coaching knowledge....... the minor blip today was only just around the corner like everyone else in this competitive comp and long may it continue.

How did Robbie not score THAT try when the Fev full back held him up?

And why oh why does Stanton keep trying to burst through a set of big forwards when our big forwards can't even do it? He never breaks doing this and makes only 1 or 2 metres - waste of a tackle.

Fev won he tactical battle against our somewhat tired looking team.

I have hardly missed a match this season and have to side with Snowy a little, however one dimensional is a litle harsh.

We do need to run more straight lines and play it a little simpler at times.

All in all I have enjoyed what I have seen this season - more than in recent seasons and has been said, we have dropped 3 points all year. If we continue with that sort of form we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season

Whilst I admire Stantons bravery and willingness to look for work and give the forwards a rest, it would be better left to trying it when the opposition are on the back foot when he has more chance of making 10 metres plus or even breaking the line.

Hardman has a good reputation for try saving tackles (particularly holding players up over the line). Also, whilst on the subject of Hardman, I thought he looked quicker than I have seen him recently and overall had a fine game.

well i'm with bart man.
i find it absurd to call our tactics which have served us so well so far.
afterall we've just lost 24.16 to the team with the best defence & best attack in the division.
