Wigan M.B.C. today announced they will be renaming the LSV as the people who don't live in Leigh itself have given the impression they feel outsiders and unwelcome by the naming LEIGH sports village, and as such it is not being used to it's full potential by the neighbouring area's.
The announcement states " We have decided to give the village a whole new look by naming it after a worldwide superstar of sport, but most importantly a local lad made good, this will encourage youngsters in the surrounding area's to attempt to achieve what this great local lad has."
It continues " We proudly announce LSV will now be known as the Shaun Edwards Stadium"
