| When the news broke he had signed for Wire, I thought "Fantastic, take the pressure of Benny" ..... but found myself spending the first half of the season yelling "do something" at Waterhouse .... and in a strange way, Benny being missing through injury has made TW come out and start playing the rugby he'd produced in the NRL. Been eerily similar to Kingy when he took some time to settle into the team.
If TW continues performing the way he has over the past few games, snuffing out opposition attacks at source, then Benny will come back in and wonder where all the space has suddenly come from!

This makes me wonder if some people really watch the game or stand texting throughout the match. Trent hasn't changed at all from the moment he first arrived, always one of our top tacklers and working really hard in attack to make space for our outside backs. Very consistent first year.

| I'm with Teesside on this, i think people were expecting something he isn't, we lost Louis and his big hits and people were hoping for like for like. Instead though we got Trent and his awesome defence and his driving runs that need 3 men to bring down and then an offload to one of the backs with the space he's just created.
He's like Benny in that he just gets the job done, he doesn't want to stand out, he's a team player.

| Whats changed is fans expectations over the time he's been here. When he arrived, I think people expected him to be an explosive back rower like Tony Puletua due to his size, but as time has gone by they have come to realise that he is very effective, hard working and quietly creative player. The sort of player who easily goes unnoticed.

| I think he's a great player, another quality overseas signing by TS.
With Trent and Benny Westwood I would say we have the best second row in the league.

When someone averages 28 tackles per game (630 in 22 games) but has been putting in up 40 tackles in his last 8 games (although no-one had to tackle much agaisnst Giants and Hull last week was 'only' 26, the lazy git), then wouldn't that indicate that in his first few games he must've been putting in less? The same Opta stats show his 'metres per game' rising over the season...... = 'improving' not 'consistent'.
I've got no problem with him - think he's a brilliant player that we're now seeing the best of; that was not how he started the season
I'll get back to my texting

| Waterhouse, like Myler, was an easy target for criticism at the start of the year but I've no idea why. It always seemed to be the pair of them who were at fault. Riley in recent years had got stick for not being able to defend too although that seems to have stopped this year.
Do our fans just not like our left edge?

| I like him. He rarely misses a tackle, ever, and stops offloads very well. Our left side is the best in SL both with tries scored and tries conceded.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

Who was it who said that? I asked if someone could find the original Waterhouse thread and someone found the second one. Anyway, I think Waterhouse has come thrown the Warrington Overseas Player Grief Cycle:-
Phase 1 - Warrington sign big name Australian player.
Phase 2 - Fans of other clubs, usually Rogues, complain that he isn't a) young b) British and that as a result he isn't interested and Warrington shouldn't have signed him.
Phase 3 - He doesn't score a hatrick on his debut. Murmurs of discontent.
Phase 4 - He also fails to score hatricks in first 2 months. More concern.
Phase 5 - 1st Thread on RL Fans - about him leaving fans cold.
Phase 6 - People actually use their eyes.
Phase 7 - 2nd Thread on RL Fans - people start to appreciate the performances.
Phase 8 - Continues to play well. Every. Single. Week. (pretty much)
Phase 9 - 3rd Thread on RL Fans (see above).
