| First of all, I didn't start this thread to insult Harrison and Cooper. They are not world beaters but IMO they put all the effort in every time they represent Warrington and that is all you can ask.
I was watching the Whitehaven vs Widnes match on sky last night and i was very impressed by a number of young player that haven had, particularly Kyle Amor. I recognise that the teams these youngsters play against are worse the Super league teams therefore they may appear better than super league youngster appear.
This got me thinking who is the better player, would Harrison/Cooper stand out in NL1 more than Amor and co. Could Amor slot into our side?

| Well Kyle Amor is a former gb player at rep level playing for... Whitehaven
Harrison is a senior level player for a team that got into the quarter final of the world cup.
Not sure how old Kyle is but Harrison is only 21 and commanding a regular first team spot. Not much more he can be doing. Forwards enjoy their best time of career older than backs so to say he wont be/isn't a world beater, could be doing him an injustice for future.

| Kyle Amor played a couple of trial games for Wigan reserves last year.
He played quite well but obviously didn't get the nod.

| Probably cause he's already been signed by Hudds but is on loan for the season to Whitehaven. However, if rumours are true about Brough, think he may be worth a punt if we put up the cash. he's certainly ripping it up in the NL.

Strange choice of MOM I thought. I actually thought he did nothing other than score two tries. Someone like Amor or even Joe were more deserving.

Agreed I thought Amor had a better game. Although McNally has something of the young Briers about him.
I am aware about his position with Hudds but it looks like they aren't going to be doing anything with him in the near future.

Slight difference in the quality of opposition though. I think both Harrison & Cooper are progressing nicely.

| Cooper will make the step up, I'm very sure of that. He had a big set back with his double leg break, and the complications that followed that, he has done very very well to get back to where he is now. He should go from strengh to stengh now, what alot of people don't know is, he does have some very good footwork, and a superb pair of hands. At the moment, he is doing his job, and like you say, putting the effort in required with no thrills. Over the next season or two I expect to see him flourish.

He has the thing that seperates good props from great props; a nasty, aggresive streak that is very cloes to the surface, but doesn't overstep the mark.

Let's hope so. Out of the pair of them Harrison looks the prospect now though in my opinion (wouldnt make the Saints or Leeds 17 as they stand but lets not hold that against him)

He is getting better and better though, and is moe than adequate cover in the back row.

| Amor was MOM by a mile vs Widnes. However, Haven were playing a very off-form Widnes team - a team that Barrow hammered at the Stobart last weekend. Their pack is very, very weak - even for the Championship.
Regarding McNally, he's got a long way to go IMO. He doesn't create a great deal and is pretty weak defensively. OK, he scored plenty of tries, but in SL they'd snub him out pretty easily.
Barrow lad Harrison is the real deal. Can we have him back ???

I'm still not sure where Harrison's best position is. He has a good go forward, although he is lacking a little pace. Conversely, he also has a good tackle rate, along the lines of a backrower, it is just the pace thing that is holding him back.

filling the gap at looseforward at the mo, though strangely he seems to be playing in a cullen 03-06 version of looseforward, rather than an addition playmaker.

I think he's changing shape though. He's trimmer than he was say, 18 mths ago, and I think there's further work to do there. He'll become more dynamic, and obviously quicker on the back of that. He's got an offload, a fend etc, so if he can add the more 'athletic' side to his game, I think he could be a very good player.
There's things I like about him, daft things, like he never really gets injured and seems to miss matches through this. He's able to play long spells too, so he offers you a good option if you lose a player in game etc.
