i got em down to 6 quid last month for the next 3 months using the nrl as my reasoning, tbh i've not been watching much rugby on there for a while so it was a clear waste of money for me, the woman i spoke to didn't even lie to me saying it'll be back to normal soon but offer me the half price.

The only other thing i watch on setanta is the UFC and i've got out of the habit of watching that, this 3 months takes me past the lesnar-mir fight, i might try and see if i jib them down again at that point.

Just say a friend of yours that subscribes to Setanta just for the NRL has had his subscription reduced to £3.33 for 3 months, ask them what they can do for you, just say that you only subscribe for the rugby league as the other sports they offer don`t interest you.

You will get it for £3.33 for 3 months as they need the custom, they would rather have you on £3.33 a month than risk losing you and have you pay nothing at all.

I cancelled mine a couple of months back. It took an age, they wouldn't recognise the cancellation, which I'd sent verbally, written, via email & smoke signal.

Even at £3.33, I don't think I'll be getting it back.

I found fitting the NRL games in, hard work. I used to SKY+ them, then finding time to watch them etc. The Saturday live football clashed with SL, the only thing I miss really is the Monday night games, and of course the fantastic non league action that they have.

Setanta are going down quicker than a warrington lassie on a saturday night.

My cancellation notice will be going off at the end of the month, and I will never again subscribe.

Thanks for the info guys. I will be ringing Sky tomorrow. I am really disappointed that they cut the games down to one, I enjoy watching the Footy show with Fatty, and Matty....but those two things alone aren't worth the current subscription....will try the 3.33 tactic....

Cancelled a few months ago £12.99 wasn't worth it for the odd game of football that even clashes with SL, cricket that I can't watch due to work and 1 NRL match each week. They offered £9.99 a month and thought they were doing me a favour.

Same as ITV Digital Setanta has overstretched themselves, they won't last. Saturday football games, FA Cup and Internationals to BBC, itv, C4 or even five please, NRL back to Sky (but without Chris Warren)

£3.33 and free Virgin subscribers won't save them.

Dont need to, i already have setanta, its included in my pacage for my virgin media V+ box

I'm currently paying £12.99 with Setanta, but it's strange as I don't really watch the flagship channels. The only time I do is for the football and for the NRL when I get chance to tape it (if my Sky Plus doesn't play up).

I mainly watch ESPN America, LFC TV and also Rangers TV (as the maud is a Gers fan!) plus I've started to get more into Setanta Golf as they've got rights to a lot more tournaments now that they have taken from Sky Sports.

I agree about the football rights though. They've already lost one package for next season, and I can see them losing the England games and the FA Cup matches soon if they don't buck up their ideas.

Don't fire up the Sky+ versus V+ row again. Both have their pros and cons, however V+ is definitely superior in some ways - it's 3 tuners to Sky's 2 for a start. It certainly isn't a "rip of (sic)"

the problem is cancelling the thing once you sign up, i got rid of it as i didnt watch most of it but it took a few months for people to reply to emails and letters, they can't take cancellations over the phone. Customer Service is shocking, even Watchdog slagged em off
