| I don't know whether it’s the credit crunch but out of most of the Wire fans at the Magic Weekend, hardly any had the 2009 shirt on. Most had past seasons shirts on.
I am wondering if its down to the poor design and fitting of the 2009 shirt or has the credit crunch impacted on peoples pockets?
Personally I don’t wear colours to games due to being a fashion icon but I wondered what peoples views were on this?

I like wearing my original Vladivar as worn in action by the late Mike Greg. It gives a sense of history and tradition, plus it stands out more, and does that retro thing I quite like.
As for fashion icon - what do you wear to the games so I can assess?

Disagree with the bit in bold, I'd say of those wearing shirts, most were this year's home or away. But I would say there were quite a few old ones on show, perhaps more that recent years. I was wearing a 2005 one - I like the design, quality is good and looks similar to this year's. I didn't buy a 2009 one partly to save money, partly because I've probably bought too many in recent years and felt I didn't need another and partly because I was put off by the poor fitting of them.

That Vladivar one is a classic top even a fashion guru like myself would consider wearing that under my hackkett jacket! I usually wear my light brown jacket, a shirt (Lacoste, HL or Paul Le Shark), jeans (Armani, Hugo Boss) and my brown shoes (timberlands).

| You should change the name of this thread to 'The fashion thread' Des, maybe it's the case that 2009 shirts aren't in fashion.

You could be right there Paul I have refunded mine due to the fitting.
Hope you had a good laugh meeting me and my fellow Casuals in the Three Sisters?

Fashion guru and Hackett don't usually go together in the same sentance. Unless you're from Essex maybe.

Sounds a bit towny to me. But then again I'm a bit older and stick to Paul Smith / Armani in general.

| Not bought a shirt for a couple of seasons now, not really been impressed with the designs or fit. I currently sport the black 2007 away shirt which fits very nicely - Also can't do hoops for reasons of looking even fatter and shorter than I am, black hides my physical downsides
I did win a 2008 home shirt but some rugby oiks wrote their names all over it making it unwearable for the more mature gentleman.
Our SW corner of Murrayfield did look rather good on TV - and there was a lot of 2009 shirts home and away on show.

| 08 shirt for me, lack of funds and buying shirts from every season in recents years has kinda put me off buying another. Also, I'm not over keen on this years design anyway.

| I would be wearing my Bob Jackson signed Vladivar top in Barcelona but unfortunately due to a slight weight increase I look pregnant in it.

| the omega shirts look better than this seasons which look tacky and cheap.
I never really being a victim/mug of fashion just get plain t-shirts/hoodies/jumpers/coats. I only have 5 pairs of jeans (levi for comfort and fitting) had them for over 6 years now .
Never understood this buying labelled clothes thing generally, waste of money. Now my brabus, that is my little baby

That's his mate Ray - Des/Ste is the one you can partially see on the left.*

I feel sorry for Lacoste the same way I fell sorry for Burburry in that despite their best efforts people associate them with chavs/scally (call them what you like) types.
Lacoste polo t-shirts are one of the best you can buy quality wise.

| It's when people make the snide gear that ruins it.
I have a pair of Evisu jeans and I get asked so many times are they real and stuff, and people trying to tell me how they got a real pair for £30. Laughable.

Agreed, Lacoste Polo shirts are top quality and classic items of clothing.
Some of the stuff you see round Warrington is terrible though, Lacoste tracksuits in a variety of garish colours, multicolored shorts and T-shirts emblazoned with crocodiles so big even Steve Irwin would have been scared by them.

I thought people like you called them the mis-understood, talented, wonderful vision of the future let down and dis-allusioned by Tory rule?

Still towny brand though. Not like a subtle, understated yet classy number from Smith, Armanic or D&G.
