| In his column in the M E N,Patten thinks like some others on the forum, that we should go to playing Sunday.
When do you think the switch will come, sooner or later.

| Sunday as always brought more fans to the willows and i prefer sundays and totally agree with everything luke said the question is will the people like steve simms stick there ore in and say no. Friday night is difficult not only for the home support but away support as well and if they need more people to come the club could do no more than give it a try what have they got to lose

| from another thread but hopefully relevant here:
"What an interesting article by Luke Patten - a non too veiled criticism of Matt Parrish, clearly there was much more going on behind the scenes that we fans were not aware of.
FWIW I prefer Friday nights as that then leaves the rest of the weekend free, but I do understand the points made by others, Sundays would be better for many families and many travelling supporters"

I can understand that - get it over with as soon as possible. I'm the same - I always eat the vegetables first so that I can enjoy my chips afterwards.

Sunday Has NOT always brought more fans to the willows...the cluib shared the break down figures on face book recently and showed how fridays have in fact provided better attendances
Also, if the crowd were to double by moving to sundays do you not think the club wouldnt have moved the games? of course they would
fact is...we NEED the corporate money...and that comes from friday nights. Quite frankly, whilst im sure some people cant do firdays....there'll be as many who cant do sundays...at least with fridays we get corporate money too - sounds like we need it ATM

And the fact the amauteur game is moving to summer rugby on a sunday doesnt reaily make sence for us to play of a sunday afternoon as some of our fans and kids will be playing
Add to the incresed traffic around the trafford centre on a sunday afternoon our park and ride scheme would be unworkable if its going to take 1 hour to get there
and the fact United and City will be playing on sundays WILL effect our attendances and our corporate cash would not be as much so that would damage the club also
One less day to do real family things like days out
I do see positives for sunday, family fun days every game (but it would be expensive in the long run) Pub Crawls though eccles would be stuff of legend some wouldnt even make the match
Thats about it reaily of the top of my head.

Friday or Sunday , it's not the day , it's the awareness of the fixture in the first place that the problem !
If you're a casual suporter, you'd have no idea of when they were playing or who they were playing , it was the case at the Willows and it continues to be the issue at Barton .

If you're completely oblivious to the club and the game, you'd have no idea but if there are supporters out there that genuinely can't find that info out in 5 mins, I'd be worried for their welfare.

| All points covered by the Optimist.
Sundays would be far more family friendly and also for the drinkers we get to do the Eccles pub circuit The future of the club is about getting the youngsters of the Salford area interested in the club and 8pm Fridays is not the best time to attract people.
We can do more to promote ourselves but there is only so much you can do on a limited budget. As for the casual supporter they should be able to check the internet or read their local free paper for fixtires. If they cannot do that then you question their interest in the club. If we got to the Challenge Cup final (yeah I know thats a massive IF) it would be amazing how many casual supporters would be aware what was going on.

| The Advertiser is now not delivered free to all corners of the city, some parts have to pay at the Newsagent.

I don't get one, for example.
