Just like to praise the club for the new matchday centre that has appeared for the Wigan game.

Will hopefully be continuing throughout the season so anyone who cant get to the game can still get commentary..

Brilliant service, we're often found to be leading the way off-field.
Hope it doesn't prove [itoo[/i successful though - we don't need any more excuses to give our apathetic fans to sit at home.

What a great idea / service, we're all only too happy to [i"have a go"[/i at the club when things aren't to our liking so I think we should be as quick to congratulate them when they do something like this.

I think it's a nice little thank you for those living around the country / overseas to still have a part of the last season at the old girl!

It's a good idea for those who don't go for what you might consider 'non-genuine reasons' too.

Things like this allow non-attendees to engaged with the club/team and may well make them more likely to come in future.

I stumbled across this link at kick off on Sunday. It was great and worked extremely well.

Due to working abroad I will only be able to make one game this season, so this service is perfect.

It's a good idea and I think the club have got the timing about right.

Sky Sports match centre coverage is very good these days; there are Super League score update mobile apps available now with one or two more in the pipeline. That's aside from user-created commentaries via social media like Twitter and Facebook. It's becoming much easier to keep up with what is going on during each and every game without attending, and this is, for better or worse, largely out of the club's hands. So it's a good idea for the club to try and centralise this traffic on to its own service/website, create a name for itself (i.e. making it the 'go to' place for Salford match updates), and then perhaps sell display advertising to local businesses.

Just to add: a lot of the praise has been from/for those who cannot attend the game. I think there's a fair amount of scope for this to benefit those who are actually there in the stands. It's an interactive version of listening to the live commentary on radio, which I know a few people do. For example, a supporters' man of the match poll could be posted 15 minutes before the end the match. Then near the end of the game, the poll results are announced with the sponsors' man of the match. I think voting on that would be attractive to a lot of fans; it's also open to abuse too but it's just a bit of fun. Also, allowing supporters to send or attach photos and sound clips of what they are experiencing would be really good.

The only issue I have, and it's crucial for the last point I've just made: I found it to be a bit flaky on my mobile phone. And I know why. Hopefully these kinks can be ironed out with time.

Do we know whether there's a plan to cover every match (including Catalans and Harlequins away)?
