SL has, proved that failure is rewarded. They get the major share of all the revenues.
We can't have well run teams in SL it would spoil it!

The fact that independent auditors said Featherstone's licence wasn't better than Wakey, Cas, Salford, Bradford etc etc meant that they didn't get promoted

If they have put enough effort into infrastructure as their team then it's only a matter of time.

Is this the same infrastructure that Bradford and Salford put in place?

Anyway, it's a moot point. Gone is franchising. Consigned to the dustbin - ironically by SL Chairmen.

I would add the kicker "for now" to that statement. A few years of the top 5 or 6 getting stronger and the rest scrambling around for crumbs from uncle Rupert's table may well see the drawbridge being raised again.

Well done Rovers. The old saying, you can only beat what's put in front of you applies here and without doubt, you are the top team at the second tier of RL in this country. Keep it up and in 2015 you will get your chance to experience life in Superdooper League.....there's another old saying you should be aware of too......that is, "be careful what you wish for"

Good rant about absolutely nothing there. 4 LLS but only one Championship Grand Final win (so far).
Lets put it into perspective: how many people remember that Saints won the LLS 4 times in a row from 2005-2008? I think most remember them only winning the GF once in that time.

Who's to say that the same fate wouldn't have met Featherstone or Halifax or Leigh had they been promoted?

The auditors picked the most suitable 14. That doesn't necessarily mean that 14 teams were suited to SL!

Agreed. I'm not convinced that the applications were rigorously looked at to be honest but then that's something we'll never know for sure.

If you think you can do better, then why don't you progress to become the CEO/Chairman of the RFL....
