| The big problem is Referee Transparency. We have seen over this weekend some shocking decisions with Carnleys 'try' and Taia's ability to stay on the pitch despite taking O'Briens head off. Nathan Brown has spoken out about the incident but he will end up with a bigger fine than Taia whilst Sandercock refused to comment knowing how much it will hit his pay packet. Something needs to change because the refs are influencing the game far too much.

| What does slagging refs of in public achieve?
I'm sure there is a mechanism where they can meet with the referees hierarchy and raise issues.
I can't imagine Ganson fears hearing the truth

I don,t think there is, seem to remember Ian Millward saying around 10 years ago that there is no transparency between club and officials and then said a similar thing when he was at Castleford last season.
It seems as though the tail is wagging the dog these days and its becoming the referees performances is controlling the shape and outcome of the game, the RFL have created too many grey areas that enhances inconsistency.
The clubs are also at fault as well in overstretching the laws of the game, they do there homework on each individual referees weakness and use it to there advantage.
As we all know players dont play from the same hymn sheet and officials don,t referee from the same hymn sheet, if things don,t improve I can supporters turning there back on a game dominated by inconsistency and frustration.

Agreed about referrers influencing games. Today we haw Child refereeing and Roby (who is quite frankly the worst referee I have ever witnessed) touch judging.
Whoever wins today isn't the team that necessarily performs the best, it's then team that is the most disciplined and doesn't upset the officials. This is wrong IMO, referees should not be noticed.

So you can only criticise something that you personally do to a professional standard yourself?
That should shut down every internet forum worldwide then.
People like you are part of the problem quite frankly.

Hes not the only one that thinks that, Barrie McDermott on Back Chat the other day said that we should hide negative press and not report it.....cause that's a great idea, sweep it under the carpet.

ALL WIGAN SUPPORTERS MUST
1. Wigan must not win a hard fought struggle in appalling conditions, nilling the opposition and scoring 16 points, because that makes for the worst CC Final of all time.
2. Wigan must not get to the final by nilling the opposition and scoring 70 points with a display of attacking rugby because that makes for the worst CC Semi Final of all time.
3. Wigan players must not consider winning the game but devote all their efforts to entertaining neutral fans. Just like all the other teams do...
4. Wigan fans must not mention winning the CC Final, as that is arrogant.
5. Wigan fans must not mention winning the Challenge Cup 19 times, or indeed any other Trophies, as that is very arrogant indeed.
6. Wigan fans must not attend actual games. It is now compulsory to stay at home, watch on TV and moan about how low attendances at games are.: |

| the referees are in a very difficult position. If they wanted to they could potentially blow up for something every other tackle or ruck as there is virtually something technically wrong. However if they do then they get critisised for blowing up for every minor thing.
In reality if you want consistent refereeing it will have to go down the route of union and blow up for every technical fault.

I really liked McDermott as a player but can't stand the man as a coach!

| Think it should be, 'The Coach's fear of the referees'.
The way the players speak to and treat the ref is very important, the refs don't go out there to mess up, and if this put people off watching then they're pathetic. The problem is not having 2 refs, simple. Even then it won't be perfect, as nothing ever is. Most players play to the ref and push the boundaries as much as they can. Honesty from the players is unfortunately rare.

The Leeds youngsters I believe? This has always been one of my irritants. How can James Child and Tim Roby for example referee Super League games when they are touch judges? You never see Richard Silverwood or Phil Bentham etc. running the line.

86.jpg Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg |
