Canada narrowly defeated Jamaica 18-12 in Toronto on Saturday night, but the biggest story has to be the attendance of over 4,500 which smashed the North American record for a rugby league match. The start of the match had to be delayed in order to accommodate the much larger than expected attendance.

After a winning performance, hopes must now be high that a 5,000 plus attendance can be reached for the first time in the upcoming game against the Lebanon in August, which would be a remarkable achievement and put Canada firmly on track for WC qualifying for 2017.

No it didn't, the match between South Sydney and Leeds in 2008 had a crowd of over 12,000.

Congratulations on the win and the fantastic crowd. A record crowd for an international in North America is a massive achievement which can hopefully be built on.

Not at all, it was a great effort and coupled with the exposure received on national TV I've heard they are looking at an even bigger crowd next time against Lebanon.
