| Some people I know went to this Irish pub down on Grassmarket and said that it was decent. I can't tell you myself, though, 'cause the doormen wouldn't let me in.
Decent pizza place near that, to.

www.themagicweekend.co.uk
gives some details of places to visit if you are looking for something other than pubs.
For parking use the park and ride. Think it is the Ingliston one which is free 24hr parking and you just pay for the bus (£3 a day or £1.20 a trip)

| I always use the free parking at Leith and catch a bus into the city when I visit, (does anyone know if the tram has got that far yet ? ) if you're interested in something more than a pub and a pizza shop (come on folks you can find those down the bottom of your own street) you'll find plenty to do in the city centre, in fact theres so much to do that it would be easier if you highlighted a few things that you enjoy so that others can point you in the right direction.

| The ghost walks and tours around the vaults are always good for a laugh. You can walk up Arthurs Seat for free. There's the castle and Holyrood Palace. Not forgetting the Whiskey experience. Loads of different things to do.

No there won't, there generally isn't much of a police presence apart from immediately around the ground as the majority of Hearts fans travel by official coaches which are only allowed down certain routes etc. Walk down Princes Street and you would barely know that there's a game on, crowds only start to gather the nearer you get to Leith Walk.
