| My post on the Hull forum (relevant to Hull) has been closed. But the fact remains (this can easily be checked), The football league will decide in 2010 whether Premier league clubs can share thier pitch with other sports (RL). If they say nay then where does it leave Wigan and Hull?
Hull will return to the Boulevard (or rumoured costello) (yes contingency has been drawn up), where will Wigan go?

| Both Wigan and Latics pay to play in the stadium, neither are going anywhere.
Latics are likely to get relegated before then anyway.

| I'm sure if these grounds were built using public money, or were given planning permission etc on the basis of them being multi-purpose stadia, there's nothing the football clubs can do.

The price of one premier league player could buy any Super League club lock stock and barrell. What would stop them doing that and running them into the ground? or at least sticking them in a locally built out of town 10k capacity facility.

Your basic assumption fails because can you be positive that the relevant people would want to sell!!

Doubt it - why would the shareholders in the club simply sell it off to die? It's not as if they make money out of it anyway.
And if there is a public mandate for the ground to be multipurpose, there's nothing stopping the fans simply creating the club all over again and staking their claim.
I'm sure the SL etc would look on such an incident with the appropriate support.

And that's why you can't see the flaw in your argument - you assume everyone thinks like that.

If the football league say that Wigan and Hull football clubs cannot play in the Premier League at their current grounds then they will either have to play in a different league or move to alternative facilities.
This seems to have very little to do with RL and would be better discussed on the Other Sports forum.
