IIRC Harlequins Rugby League had 4 databases of fans in 2007, collated over 10 or so years of SL........and not the slightest ing idea of what to do with them.

Data is one of the most valuable things n organisation can have....but perversely, it is also one of the most expensive and costly things to have if you don't use it!

I'd lay odds that most SL clubs consider a weekly email and Facebook/twitter activity the entirety of their CRM activity

I reckon HKR will be nearer 10k in 2014 than they have ever been before....it really is up to the fans now.

It's possible with big crowds vs FC, Leeds, Wigan etc. Got a good chance of being as well supported as they ever have IMO. Just need to extend the East Stand now as well in the other direction... and a new South Stand

Hmm....that's over their season average, but 700 or so down on their attendance when they won the hub cap a couple of weeks ago and 23 less than the regular season game back in freezing February.

The mega-cheap season ticket culture has spawned a generation of SL fans who have an aversion to paying for individual games. They won't even pay to attend a play-off fixture when there's a cheap ticket deal on offer.

Tonight's attendance at Hull was the 3rd lowest ever for a SL play-off fixture or the 3rd lowest out of 89 play-off fixtures played since 1998.

What bet was this? You're the second person to allude to a bet between me and Smokey. We had a difference of opinion when Smokey suggested SL attendances in 2013 were on course to becoming the 2nd best attendances in the entire history of the game!

I offered him the bet that 2013 SL attendances would be lower than 2011 (despite the fact that Saints were playing all their home games in Widnes that year, and then there were those embarrassing Crusaders attendances). Smokey bottled it - he wouldn't take the bet - which was lucky for him because he would have lost. In fact, 2013 SL attendances also finished up lower than those recorded in 2010 and 2009.


Agree with that. Hopefully, the poor play-off attendances during the Top 8 format era will be the evidence required to terminate it ASAP.
