36819_1328648313.jpg WELSH RUGBY LEAGUE - PRIDE & PASSION IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_36819.jpg |

| Crusaders average at Wrexham to date is 5,208. The Neath figure brought it down a lot. The games down South should never have happened. What is the best they could have expected after taking the club away from the South Welsh public that weren't bothered to support the club in Super League last season.
5,000 is a decent base to build on and I think if the problems of the previous owners can be sorted the Sky is the limit.
Off topic as such but something that really pleases me is the fact all home shirts have sold out with only a few away shirts. Great to see rugby league fans wearing their colours around the town.

| All of those crowds will be beaten on Fri night at Neath when Crusaders entertain Quins at 6 PM!!!!!!
I heard yesterday from a very reliable source(not a friends brother either) that Crusaders are in dire straights financially...as are 5 other clubs, 3 in yorkshire(1 ex Humberside), 1 in Manchester and one south of the M62

There was about 400 Salford fans, away to Crusaders that isn't actually that bad is it? Considering they usually bring about 10 fans to us.

46042.jpg [quote="Bonzo":23qz4bj5]Corrected.
Incidentally, an exclamation mark ends a sentence and does not require a full stop. The first letter of the next word begins a new sentence and should therefore be capitalised. [i:23qz4bj5]Who needs flankers[/i:23qz4bj5]' grammar was actually correct.
HTH.

What's worse for me is that they scored 60 and not a single point of that was scored by a UK born player ![FRUSTRATED icon_frustrated.gif](images/smilies//icon_frustrated.gif)

Yeah right, don't wish to sound arrogant but there is no way we would be looking at signing Willie Mason if we were close to going under.
Quins can never be in dire straights because they've got a long-term financial backer. He goes by the name of RFL. ![Cool icon_cool.gif](images/smilies//icon_cool.gif)

Sadly not although support has been requested recently as it has by other clubs who are in trouble including yours!

The last game was held at neath, away from the standard racecourse. It was a terrible crowd, and next week is going to be far worse.
Take out those two games however, and we are still averaging at least 3500 fans a game. That's not too bad considering the up and down season, and the fact that rugby league is new here. It's going to take a while to win over a lot of Pro-Union people down here'"
Tis true that Wrexham has a much better attendance than South Wales but until the team establishes itself as a North Wales Franchise with regional men in it , many will stay away from the hand-picked, over-paid, law-unto-itself Australian outfit.
A shame really as there is a real interest in Wrexham. What will happen when Crusaders have to toe the money line like all the other Superleague teams? Will the attandance crash when the super australians are not playing?

| ![Smile icon_smile.gif](images/smilies//icon_smile.gif) Crusaders are a breath of Fresh air. When teams that have been established for up to 100 years like Wakey and Salford can still only pull between 3000-5000 fans I think it fully justifies Crusaders inclusion in the top flight. If you also look at the Championship 1 attendances South Wales Scorpions have outperformed most clubs apart from York and Oldham. They get better crowds already that the long established RL teams from Workington, Swinton, Rochdale and league leaders Hunslet. Wales RL is the future.

an alias? im a new member, support widnes vikings and made a valid point. crowds are terrible, a team full of aussies and not a point scored by a brit. seems strange when franchise application states that attendances and youth development must be met to be considered. and it is not a crusader hunt. i agree with expansion and agree with my team being left out last time. however, i look at super league and see teams that were accepted do everything agains what got them accepted. my point today is this is crusaders second season, not first regardless of moving the length of the country and reinventing themselves. progress? none. poor crowds, mismananged as the rumours i am hearing is that they are losing money hand over fist, and a team full of australians. rugby league in wales would be brilliant if it worked. but its time to say it blatantly isnt

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

With respect it was only a few very short years ago Widnes went bust owing a lot of people including many local small business's money that was never paid back.
