Everyone is invited to next Wednesday's launch of Greg Mallory's 'Voices of Brisbane Rugby League' at the Rugby League Heritage Centre at the George Hotel, Huddersfield on Wednesday 17 February at 1pm.
Already a bestseller in Queensland, the book interviews many of the greatest names in the game. It includes memories of the famous 1958 Ashes match in Brisbane when Great Britain won with just ten fit men (from the Aussie side!), stories of games against touring Great Britain sides in the era of the biff, and reflections on how rugby league has changed over the years.
Guest of honour will be all-time great former referee Billy Thompson, the man who refereed the first-ever State of Origin match. Greg Mallory is here from Brisbane and will be there to sign copies of the book.
‘It’s a book that reflects the pride and passion that rugby league generates in Queensland’, says Greg Mallory. ‘And those are two qualities that fans of the greatest game share worldwide, whether you’re from Batley or Brisbane, Golcar or Gold Coast.’
Admission is free and everyone is welcome!
