| I think you will get better a couple of games in, missing your friendly last week did you no favours by the sound of it.

| Who wants to start the Michael Platt thread then?
I don't think I can remember a time when a team have dominated in possession and position so much and come away with so little. This of course is partly credit to Hull KR's superb defense, but it's also down to people with classy performances such as Morrison, Burgess and Menzies being let down by culprits such as Platt who aimlessly wander into touch. Essentially we're playing ourselves most of the time.
Great moment not long after Platt went off when Sykes went to FB put his body on the line, by sliding in and getting the ball cleanly. Can't imagine our first choice doing that.

Change his name to "pratt" and put skyes there as first choice IMO you would have a stronger season that way.......

Still if we are to have a better season we need to be winning these kind of games. Just not good enough. Again.

| Eh wtf, how was it platts fault, did nowt wrong at all, caught everything that went his way, didnt knock on, if anyone was poor id say sherriffe, offered us nothing, on this showing halley has got to get his place back.
We had chances to go for 2 time and again but didnt just to cough ball up, but late in second half kr knocked on, burgess picked up and ran through ref pulled it back and said he`d already blown up for knock on.
Vella is a nutcase and must be banned.
Nero was much better, sykes played better when he went to fb, but nothing at all wrong from platt.

| You've got to love people commenting on the quality of a performance without having seen it.
Brief summary from where I was sat was that it was a genuinely dominant forward performance - lost count of the number of times that KR players were halted from full pace by Burgess, Langley, Scruton - with a lack of penetration from the backs.
IMO we looked much better with Menzies at SO and with Sykes at FB.
Play like that all season and we will win far more than we lose or draw.
KR can be pretty pleased with some gritty defence but they made a lot of handling errors.
So all in all a pretty typical first match of the season and, in line with all of the teams seen on Sky so far, looking a bit rusty.

| Summed up today the lack of class and pace we have in the backs and halves..
Another average season awaits.
The forwards dominated.. and as already said i can't remember seeing a team have so much possession and territory and come away with pretty much nothing.

Didn't say it was all Platt's fault. However trying to take the winger out on the outside when there is about 10cm of room on the first tackle is only going to result in one thing, and that's the FB being taken into touch which is what happened in the 2nd half.
Also for KR's first try - his tackling was woefull. Yes it was a superb break and quick thinking on their part but I can't help thinking every other fullback in the league would have made it. As it was the KR man walked all over him.
Sure he caught the ball - that's his job - but what use is that if you never beat the first man - or pass it to the winger (!), which luckily he only did once today.
I'm not saying Platt's to soully to blame, but he isn't without fault either. McNamara sure didn't take him off for fitness reasons, it's because he is a liability IMO
